  1. With a solid single-player experience and a multiplayer game that is as much fun locally as it is online, Godzilla is just a fantastic game. I've played this longer than any other fighting game in my collection and I still enjoy going back for the occasional monster mash, even after I have long since unlocked everything.
  2. The fighting manages to feel nimble while still providing a sense of awesome scale, which had to be an extremely hard balance to strike. [Nov 2004, p.60]
  3. It's simultaneously better and worse than the original. [Holiday 2004, p.68]
  4. 60
This sequel boasts larger battle arenas, including a surprisingly convincing New York City.
  5. It's the brawling gameplay dragging things down. [Jan 2005, p.88]
  6. A monstrous letdown. [Dec 2004, p.165]
  7. 40
A decent party game with a great cast of cheesy giant monsters, but it's just not scaly or radioactive enough to command much respect.

The presentation and game concept are actually quite solid. But the gameplay is very button mashy. There's hardly any depth at all.
