  1. Painballing gets its own video game, with smooth gameplay and decent visuals that will appeal only to fans of the sport.
  2. The sequel is a much more thorough game than its predecessor but offers more bang for the buck.
  3. It definitely is a lot slower with more tactics than many gamers are used to unless you play a lot of Tom Clancy games, especially with the new team command options.
  4. An improvement over the original, Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball MAX'D is sure to impress devout FPS fans.
  5. If paintball is something you're passionate about, MAX'D is a superbly crafted digital representation of the sport jampacked with features, pros, gear and challenging gameplay that you'll enjoy far after paintball season is over.
  6. The amount of equipment and accessories to earn are impressive and the editor allowing you to change the playing fields is a nice touch and easy to use.

By combining an enjoyable Career mode with an exciting multiplayer element, Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball Max'd successfully delivers an entertaining experience.
  8. Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball Max'd captures the intensity and excitement of paintball, and in the end it's only limited by the confines of the sport itself.
  9. It tilts a bit towards the boring, but the excellent online implementation means that if you're really into paintball, this is the game for you.

It's not terrible, but in reality, only big paintball fans are going to get something out of this title. Everyone else might enjoy it in multiplayer, but would much rather be playing "Halo 2."
  11. A poor excuse of an FPS makes for an adequate, if pointless, adaptation of a sport better experienced in the real world. [April 2006, p.92]
  12. It's largely the same game with the bonus elements of online play, voice-commandable teammates, and a map editor. Nothing more, nothing less. [Mar 2006, p.78]
  13. It works well as a team based action game, with quick gameplay online and the single player experience is probably the most in depth you will find from a game of this style, with its only competitor being games such as Counter-Strike from Microsoft.
  14. It faithfully captures tactics and the energetic pace, with speed and strategic use of cover of equal importance to shooting accuracy.
  15. MAX'd would probably appeal to hard core paintball players, but the average gamer may get confused with all the gear and stat configuration that normally don't go hand and hand with a First Person Shooter.

I thought that maxed was sweet for PS2. It had all the sweet guns like the ion shocker intimidater and angels I also thought all the new gear I thought that maxed was sweet for PS2. It had all the sweet guns like the ion shocker intimidater and angels I also thought all the new gear was sweet and how you could use r1 and r2 duel finger to shoot made it even faster just like reel life and i thought that this was the best game I will ever play unless they make it virtual reality it would also be sweet if they got boards for guns in the game.
