  1. This is plain, simple fun for virtually anyone who wants to take a crack at it. Bust it out at your next shindig, and you will not be disappointed once things get going.
  2. I can't say enough about the pitch detector. It's one of the most incredible tools available for potential musicians, and I don't say that lightly.
  3. Would-be singers will as always love this game, and it's a must have if you are collecting the series.
  4. The downloadable songs add some longevity to the title, as well.
  5. With a healthy dose of game modes and songs, you can't go wrong with a game that encourages dancing and singing, and just having a great time with a group of people. Play this one loud, karaoke fans.
  6. This is everything I've wanted the franchise to become. [Dec 2005, p.161]
  7. In reviewing Karaoke Revolution Party for GCM, I played this game with three other people, and we had a blast making spectacles of ourselves.
  8. The new focus on multiplayer expands the gameplay immensely. Duets are a real treat, while the "Sing and Dance" and Minigames don't live up to their billing.
  9. If you can't get enough karaoke gaming, then Karaoke Revolution Party is the perfect remedy, with many new and great features to keep you coming back for more.
  10. The gameplay is very solid and I was able to easily measure my pitch regardless of whether I was using one of my headsets, or the available stand alone microphone.
  11. One advantage of dancing in a karaoke game is the music is better. I would rather dance to "Play That Funky Music" than to the grating songs that riddle games like Dance Dance Revolution.
  12. Easily the most fun you'll have singing outside of the shower, Karaoke Revolution Party takes the next logical step for the franchise and delivers what's probably the strongest showing of the series yet.
  13. The minigames in this feel somewhat wasted and limited, but the party modes themselves can be a lot of fun, adding some definite multiplayer mayhem to the title.
  14. It's certainly nice to have a real focus on multiplayer this time around-especially since that's when the game will see the most use, anyway-but the loss of the campaign mode is a real downer.

The finest and most fun karaoke game on any console and even rivals many PC-based karaoke programs. In other games, you sing. In this game, you sing and the computer tells you how much you blow.

Harmonix's own "Guitar Hero" is still tops--mainly due to its cool factor--but if you need to entertain a rowdy group at your next gathering, nothing says hours of good times like Karaoke Revolution Party.
  17. The only complaint I have is that the additions that were added here fail to really add anything to the game, just feeling like they're tacked on rather than fully thought-out. Regardless, if you love to sing, RSVP yourself to this Party.
  18. Certainly devotees to karaoke will enjoy the changes that Revolution Party has to offer. But if you're anything less than diehard, you'll probably feel like this game, for all its options, is still too much of the same.
  19. The feature that's sadly missing is the PS2 version's EyeToy-enabled face-mapping mode where your superstar can look like you. [Holiday 2005, p.89]
  20. We only have on question: Are you ready to rock? [Nov p.92]
  21. Like all Karaoke titles, this is a must buy for anyone from the tone deaf to the singing experts.
  22. What Karaoke Revolution Party does offer is a new diverse song selection with around 50 songs with the potential to download many more and hours of party entertainment.

If anything, Sing and Dance is a good idea on paper, but absolutely flawed in its execution. Arrows are laid side-by-side, making the more difficult patterns a pain to read correctly, and having to focus on scrolling arrows while watching your singing pattern (to make sure the game is recognizing it correctly) is incredibly counter-intuitive.

Dancing and singing simply takes too much coordination, and the steps aren't timed well enough with the music to make them feel as natural as they should've.
