  • Summary: With the exclusive video game license of the NFL and its players, and currently in its 17th installment, Madden NFL 07 puts you in control the running game like never before. For the first time ever, step up as the lead blocker to create a hole, and then take control of the tailback and smash through, overpower, or slash away from would-be tacklers as you fight for every yard. Innovative rushing controls give you a game-breaking ground attack featuring all-new jukes, cutbacks, and the distinct running styles of your favorite backs. Expand

  1. To say that the Lead Blocking Control completely revolutionizes Madden is the understatement of the year.
  2. With all due respect to all the stat crunchers out there, this is once again the true "fantasy" football.
  3. The Lead Blocking adds an all new dimension to the game, the Superstar mode lets you live the life of a NFL player, and the countless number of options and features add up to hours upon hours of enjoyment.
  4. The new kicking meter makes it way onto current generation, providing a ton of more control and consistency with the kicking game.
  5. The EA team made their off-season adjustments and released a solid product. Maybe not groundbreaking or innovative, but certainly a step forward.
  6. EA's challenge is not to simplify their simulation or stop adding detail, but to integrate those features so well that players can simply marvel at how advanced the game has become. The Superstar revisions are a step in the right direction, since they allow players to focus on the entire game one player at a time, but otherwise that's just not the case.

If you played last years game, then it's almost impossible to justify purchasing Madden NFL 07.

Another great addition to the Madden series. EA makes some minor improvements that pay off. The game continues to get better, more realistic, and more fun every year. Collapse

This game should be rated 9.9. It' the best current gen Madden. The critics complain that it didn't improve enough to warrant a high score. But, compared to the 2005 edition, the highest scoring Madden, gameplay is more tight and the game is more fun to watch. For instance, QBs are able to throw on the run whereas in 2005, you'd more often get sacked from the "stop to plant feet" glitch. Also, animation upgrades are so well conceived that the motion is as fluid as real life. Sure, 2K5 had nice strings of animation, but the runners seemed robotic and looked like they were running on platform shoes. Not as if anyone needs a reason to buy this game, but if you're like me and are trying to judge if the good reviews for the 360 warrant upgrading to next-gen, I say wait a year - or at least 'til November for the PS3 to decide. EA Sports, listen to your biggest fans and add a halftime and post-game show, and pre-game intros and you'll have ALL Madden critics so happy they'll be washing your feet. Expand

I was surprised with how much the game improved this year. But with that said I was expecting zero improvement and maybe a pooly thought out "feature" or 2 added on. That's not the case though. But, I can't help but feel like ESPN NFL 2K5 plays better, and still has cooler features. Expand

It could have been great, but fatal flaws with passing in general (especially the play action pass), make this game almost unplayable. Still not even close to the ESPN NFL game that EA forced out of the market. Expand
