  1. Tries too hard to imitate the big boys and is a few Shaq-sized steps behind in nearly every respect. [Jan 2003, p.74]
  2. If you’re looking for the worthy successor to Konami’s venerated "Double Dribble," NBA Starting Five isn’t a worthy heir. It really isn’t even a bastard child.
  3. Wins the award for having the ugliest faces. [Winter 2002, p.99]

The whole thing seemed like one giant afterthough inspite of the fact that Konami has been making console basketball for the last few years.

This might be the best game I have ever played. I just started playing PS2 after retiring my old Atari 7800. It reminds me of One on One Dr. J versus Larry Bird but with five dudes hoopin' it up. Woohoo! Whatta rad game! Full Review »

I grabbed this game for $10....for $10, it's a great deal........It's not a true simulation but fun......it definitely passes the time. For a mindless gamer like myself, it's definitely entertaining. However there are toooo many offensive charging calls, the players faces look scrunched with big forheads, and the AI is very very easy to beat. It is entertainment at best. Full Review »
