Stunning. "Oddworld" is better than it's ever been, and everything about "Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee" is refined, polished, and utterly playable.
  2. So wholesomely original, so finely polished, so expertly crafted, that you can’t help but fall in love with it. [Jan 2002, p.227]
  3. Huge lands, lots of moving characters, and plenty of special effects all show off just what the X-box is capable of.

The newest Oddworlds feel rather canned, confined, repetitive, and contrived, and Munch and Abe control more stiffly than most characters put in similar situations.
  5. This game is not going to appeal to the mass gaming public. Sure, it has garnered a good sized following, but this is a genre game if I’ve ever seen one.
  6. This isn't a complete failure per se but it certainly was not the Halo-level of title that Microsoft was looking for.
  7. Though it's engaging, fun and novel for the first few hours, there's only so many ways you can come up with to use Abe and Munch's powers.

I enjoyed this game even more than Abe's oddysee and Exoddus. The game is short, but surprisingly pleasing.

Strangers Wrath was an original take on the western genre, amplifying stereotypes and giving nods to the genre whilst all the while putting its own twist on the concept. Munch's Oddysee on the other hand is a horrific excursion into a 3d environment, offering little but token offering's to the lore and as a game implementing half baked gameplay mechanics, stiff character control and lackluster environments. On a more specific note, the moment Abe starts PUNCHING OUT SLIGS! is the moment the disc is ejected Expand
