As boring as it can be, it can make you feel thrilled and invigorated at the same time. Thus is the beauty-- and bad-- of fishing. This game offers a lot of that realistic thrill.
The game might not have all the features that hard-core fans of the genre have come to expect, but it more than makes up for its shortcomings with a pick-up-and-play style of gameplay.
The perfect title for those fishing enthusiasts that would appreciate the sim-like experience and huge assortment of lures.
I love using the right analog to reel in and the left to set the hook, but other than that, the gameplay is pretty drab (and I mean that in comparison to OTHER fishing games.) [Sept 2003, p.121]
It may be realistic to have a fishing game where the fish are all in hiding or killed off by man-made pollutants, but it's certainly not much fun. [Oct/Nov 2003, p.91]
If you're not bored with it in half-an-hour then you can come over to my place and watch the paint dry on the side of my garage. You will spend endless fascinating hours as the sun causes the underlying layers of latex to expand and bubble, eventually making the top coat flake off into little peel-able chips.
Rookies and vets alike will become annoyed at the tiny area of each lake and river they're actually allowed to fish in, as well as the fact that they get absolutely no hints as to where they should cast their lines for the best chance at catching the fish. [Sept 2003, p.56]
