  • Summary: With a first-person over-the-ball view, ProStroke Golf's unique "ProStroke" swing system puts unprecedented control in the player's hands. No longer does the beauty of the perfect golf swing have to be represented by three controller button presses. Players must put their skill, stamina and mental agility to the test in Match Play, against their friends or in the comprehensive career mode. ProStroke Golf features 18 international courses including The Brabazon at The De Vere Belfry and Lake Nona; noted pros such as Sergio Garcia, Colin Montgomerie, Mark O'Meara and Ben Curtis; commentary from Sam Torrance, Ian Baker Finch and Allan Green; Golf Pro Training exercises; a detailed course and tournament designer and more. 1. I've been playing it for a few weeks now and can definitely report that it's the most accurate golf sim on the market to date.
  2. The golf is challenging-not an arcade-like game that makes it easy for you to whack the ball at the flag with every swing.
  3. Nothing short of a revelation for golfing fans. Gusto Games have created a technique that defines innovation, and makes the other techniques feel archaic in comparison.

ProStroke Golf is a game for golfers, thanks to the innovative control scheme and camera angle. But the controls aren't enough to separate it from the rest of the passable golf games on the market, and the mediocre visuals and presentation don't help ProStroke's cause very much.
  5. It's like "Tiger Woods PGA Tour" but worse.
  6. There is nothing to get particularly excited about, not even the innovative dual-stick control system that supposedly helps you to groove your swing as a professional would.
  7. ProStroke Course isn't just playing with a handicap. It's playing like it's suffering from a handicap.

Despite some minor graphic problems,....this game is a refreshing REALISTIC rival to the cheesy arcady 400 yard drives of Tiger Woods. If you like realism, get this. Minor issues I'm certain will be ironed out in version 2. To be honest, things that need changed: female golfers need included, lefties, a few more customization options for the golfers, 4 round tournaments and random pin placements. BUT, the course editor is second to none, the swing concept is unreal (if you use the weight transfer option). Do yourself a favour and get this game!!! The best $30 I've ever spent. Expand

An innovative interface that needs more refinement and a golf environment that's representative of what the XBox can truly support. Intriguing enough for a rental, but the competitive options are limited and not fully developed. The AI players introduce insufferable delays as their preshot routines cannot be bypassed. If Gusto Games listens to the feedback they'll get on this one, ProStroke Golf 2008 could be something to reckon with. Collapse

Shot full of holes, players loos clothing after a few hours swinging away. All thats left is part of the hat, eyeballs, club, arms and feet. The Bogey Man.. oops Boogie man. Game often resets and you loose you stats for current game. No driving range for practice, or puttign green, no XBOX live so no real players either. SAD, I'd rather play a real person. Could be FAR Better... Expand
