  1. It's a fun game, but like I said before, don't go in expecting a boxing sim. I would put this more in the same vein as Ready to Rumble except without all the ridiculous moves and boxers of Ready to Rumble.
  2. A game that does its license proud. It's the most complete boxing game to come out recently.
  3. To our delight, Rage has done a wonderful job of putting the movie into game form, and at the same time has made a game that is actually good.
  4. The main mode of the game that allows you to relive the past five Rocky films is disappointingly short, especially when you factor in the cheap-shot facet of the gameplay mechanics.

Rage has perfectly captured the flavor of the boxing in the Rocky films, and by this we mean there is no pugilism to be found. [Winter 2002, p.107]
  6. Game Informer

An adequate boxing title for fans of the franchise. [Dec 2002, p.144]
  7. Completely spoiled by a few major problems, the worst of which makes it possible to get by opponents using only one button.
