Critics bashed this game just like they did with Killzone. Game is just fun to play. Not very scary, but fun. If you like battle adventure games, this is the game for you.

Any Vietnam vets out there that play this game will be appalled. Wait for Men of Valor. At least it will do those that fought there justice. This game is terrible in every aspect: graphics, control and gameplay. Nothing more than any other third person shooter set in Vietnam to get people to spend money on it. This game is actually pretty decent, considering there are only two other Vietnam games out there, and they both suck. It is a decent war themed third person shooter, and the mechanics are good. The graphics could be better, but they are not terrible, and yes you and your squad can heal up in time if you're not getting attacked, but if you think this makes it too easy, I suggest This game is actually pretty decent, considering there are only two other Vietnam games out there, and they both suck. Overall above average, but not great, but not bad either...... Expand

Instead of the usual glorification of past conflict, Shellshock Nam' 67 hits hard with depictions of torture, graphic violence and summary execution carried out by both sides in the Vietnam war. This is a refreshing attempt to realistically portray the moral relativity of war. Unfortunately the moral aspect of Shellshock is as far as the realism extends with this title. This is a refreshing attempt to realistically portray the moral relativity of war. Unfortunately the moral aspect of Shellshock is as far as the realism extends with this title. The game is squad based and your teammates are invincible, that is, until they are scripted to die. The enemy AI is demented at best and the level design and graphics are below par for the Xbox. This game took me 4 and a half hours to go through on first attempt, with the achievement of medals being the only motivation to replay the game. For me, this wasn?t motivation enough. Shellshock falls into the 'Medal of Honour' category of war games, where your path is pre-determined and all that is required to progress the story is to keep killing the enemy until they're all dead. In spite of this game's attempts at creating an atmosphere, its technical and design flaws mean that it is little more than an average shooter. I generously give it 5/10. Expand

As an avid 36 yr old gamer, I really wanted to like this game, but the game falls short in every cate"gory" the game really needed more tweaking before its premature release...hopefully MEN OF VALOR will be great!!!

This is a very good game. I liked it a lot despite the crappy reviews because I like wargames a lot. It is still better than reviewers are saying. Some people go into games expecting too much nowadays and it ruins the experience for them because it doesn't live up to their expectations. Don't expect anything groundbreaking and you will like it a lot too if you like military themed games. Could have used more attention in the "pop-up" part of the graphics department with trees and the like popping in and out and warping just in front of you. Still, a lot of attention to detail though. The combat is very well implemented, taking place all round, over large distances and constantly second-guessing the player as to which direction to turn next. [Aug 2004, p.102]

On the plus side, what's there is competently done and is flecked with powerful moments of brutality. On the downside, these spots of overt anguish aren't dealt with particularly well and lead to a reduction of the overall effect.
  3. There are better shooters out on the market.
