  1. Unlike EA's game ["NBA Street"], Street Hoops is ugly, shallow, and incredibly dull.
  2. If half the effort was spent on improving gameplay as was exerted in acquiring licensed products, then the game would have been much better. Sadly, this is not the case.
  3. With a dismal defensive effort, an occasionally confused bump-mapping system, and unrealistic gameplay physics, Street Hoops puts up a hard brick.

    Hitting shots is a random affair rather than a sweet science, and the impressive array of street-ball moves (the highlight of the game) are rendered superfluous due to faulty A.I. and crude, if easily accessible, controls. [Winter 2002, p. 99]

    Although one would think this was NBA streets with the sever hookups, this game falls short, like lil'bow wow music career.
