There's plenty of good, plenty of bad and plenty of weird on Taito Legends. The games are reproduced well, too, if not precisely up to arcade perfection.
  2. AceGamez
Not only do you get some of the most stunningly playable titles from gaming history, with a simple and easy way to select them, but also a wide selection of bonus features with which to keep real retro fanatics' juices flowing.
  3. Like having an arcade in your own home. Maybe not the best arcade in town but more like the cheesy one you might recall on the wrong side of the tracks next to the 24-hour bowling alley and laundromat.
  4. Game Informer
Trips down memory lane have peaks and valleys, but this one is definitely worth taking. [Jan 2006, p.138]
  5. One of the best arcade compilation titles you will ever see. Not only does the game reintroduce some favorites and long-lost classics, but also some interviews and pieces of fascination for historians.
  6. For 20 quid it's something close to retro heaven. Go on, play it without prejudice. [Xbox World 360]
  7. The lack of light gun support drags down Operation Wolf, but with games like Elevator Action and Bubble Bobble on board, Taito Legends offers good classic arcade action at a budget price.
  8. 70
It does a good job of emulating 29 games, but a lot of these games are less than exciting inclusions. Meanwhile, some genuinely classic Taito games are left out.
  9. Space Invaders needs no further justification for ownership.
  10. For anyone with the inclination to be educated in how games used to consist of pure gameplay magic, or for those who wish to revisit their gaming pasts, Taito Legends is a superior collection of titles, some of which are truly classics in the absolute sense of the word.
  11. If you want to play some great classic arcade games, this is your game.
  12. Official Xbox Magazine
Unless your taste in classics runs on the obscure side (hello, "Super Qix"), Taito Legends might be best left in the vault. [Jan 2006, p.71]
  13. Retro fans will easily drop $20 to secure themselves a piece of gaming history while more casual fans will most likely better served giving Taito Legends a rental, but either way, it's money well spent.
  14. Why publishers can't just leave classic titles to die gracefully in the warm glow of our misguided reminiscing, is beyond us. Taito Legends represents the crème of the crop, but it still tastes a little sour with age.
  15. 75
If you have fond memories of the arcade, have a sibling that stinks at games or just want a solid collection of games then Taito Legends is for you.
  16. The load times are quick and the games are fun and are sure to bring back memories for those old enough to remember when they first were released.
