TS2 is no "Halo," but it’s really, really close. For fast-paced and light-hearted FPS action, it takes a "Halo" to beat TimeSplitters 2.
  2. It is quite simply the best multiplayer value you can find anywhere. That's including the all mighty "Halo."
  3. As if the a great single player experience wasn’t enough there are some incredible multiplayer games happening here.
  4. A must have game for shooter fans! It’s got a large assortment of weapons, tons of action, excellent multiplayer, and lots of replay value.

From the unparalleled sense of speed and unmatched control accuracy and comfort to the amazing cooperative mode, unbelievably deep and brilliant multiplayer modes, sheer options, and MapMaker feature, there is some much to love about this game.
  6. It takes the absolute best of all worlds – features, gameplay, presentation – and puts them in one game. Someone finally removed the flaws from the best games and made one with all the highlights, and that evolution has produced one of the best first person shooters ever.
  7. Pure undiluted fun. After an hour or so of play any grudges with the control system or the textures are soon forgotten.
  8. An instant classic with the best multiplayer mode of any console title. [XGamer]
  9. Fun, addicting, original, and has more gameplay options than any other FPS on Xbox, including "Halo." [Dec 2002, p.147]
  10. A phenomenal title that you will want. With an improved story mode, loads of additional features and easy to learn controls, TimeSplitters 2 moves you past the trouble of having to learn complex rules and gets you right to the heart of the matter: fragging your enemies.
  11. The actual story line is perhaps the game's weakest point, as none of the levels seem tied together in any meaningful way other than the Quantum Leap-like aspect of assuming the role of a character who lives in the time period in order to retrieve the time crystal.
  12. May very well be the best split-screen multiplayer-focused first-person shooter ever created.
  13. A serious tour de force for deathmatch. [Dec 2002, p.141]

It might not be the next "Halo," but with scads of unlockable content, a solid multiplayer mode, and a decent single-player storyline, TimeSplitters 2 has enough appeal to be a worthy addition to your Xbox collection.
  15. The only flaws in TimeSplitters 2, as no game can really escape nitpicking whatever its quality are the lack of any sort of jump and some potentially frustrating aiming.
  16. A nicely balanced, infinitely controllable and visually distinctive ride that simply feels right. [Fall 2002, p.100]
  17. The game controls better on the chunkier, first-person-shooter-friendly Xbox pad, making this the finest rendition of TS2 available. [Dec 2002, p.270]
  18. A basic first-person shooter with the action quotient set on full throttle, but everything about TimeSplitters 2 is handled skillfully and stylishly, pieced together with a scintillating polish. [Nov 2002, p.64]
  19. 70
The characters, levels, and game modes are entertaining enough, and it's got just the right sense of humor. I really can't recommend it for solo players, as most of it's solo modes are aimed towards unlocking multiplayer content.
  20. While the environments are beautiful, the hackneyed time-travel story line feels shoehorned into the experience... [which] ends up feeling a bit half-baked. [4 Oct 2002, p.158]

Timesplitters 2 is quite simply the greatest FPS ever made. They certainly do not make shooters like this anymore, absolute masterpiece. Perfect. 10/10 Full Review »

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. To be fair Timesplitters 2 was a lot fun with friends as there is lots to do on this game.

make your own levels challenge your friends at them make a story mode through them only for 1 player though
cool sound/music in some levels that are not annoying to listen to
plenty of modes that's what we like about games if they got modes and well this game has plenty must be like over 12 modes to pick
it has a story mode in it for two players
controls yeah they are kind of easy to know what type of button is meant to press

After all this Timesplitters 2 was my fave game with my friends we just enjoyed the levels, the characters and the modes and virus mode too.

The game was to look like a Goldeneye type game with fun with friends.

Quite possibly the best shooting game ever. The story is deep, challenging, and addictive. The multiplayer has a ton of different game modes to offer. The aiming can be improved but its over criticized and actually deserves praise for the realisticness (its impossible to hold a gun COMPLETELY still, so the aim marker is moving). I've been waiting for a game like this for a long time... give this game a chance and it won't disappoint. Full Review »
