  1. Overall, this has made an old ToeJam and Earl fan very happy. I still would rather it be even more like the original title, but the final product is definitely great.
  2. A refreshingly fun and simple game in a world of gaming that seems to thrive on the extremes of realty and destruction... A must have for fans and newbies alike.

No, there ain’t much of a story...and, a’ight, there ain’t a whole lotta depth...but if variety, challenge, off-color humor, and plain stupid fun is what your soul craves, then your soul craves the flava of ToeJam & Earl.
  4. A great videogame filled with some of the most impressive visuals you'll ever see, dripping with style and oozing with funk-essence. [Nov 2002, p.82]
  5. At it's heart, the game is all about collecting presents and funkifying earthlings; and it's a lot of fun, especially with a friend.
  6. 83
There's also a split-screen two-player mode that makes the game twice as fun. [Dec 2002, p.62]
  7. In the case you have kids or nephews; this is a perfect title to introduce young gamers into the world of video gaming. In fact, this may be the best Xbox game for kids.
  8. Undeniably fun, with solid controls, tons of charisma, and respectable tech specs. [Dec 2002, p.154]
  9. It’s a good experience even if you have to cope with the camera and constant Xbox Live plugs.
  10. It's not going to change your life, but it will definitely make you smile. [Dec 2002, p.268]
  11. Easily beaten, Mission to Earth provides no real sense of accomplishment or finality. [Winter 2002, p.94]
  12. It simply can't compete with the genius of its many competitors, particularly the Sony first party efforts of late.
  13. Whilst extremely generic, it offers huge amounts of fun for the first few hours. Get past that however, and you soon realise that beneath the low brow gags and goofy gifts, there’s not a lot left to make it stand out from the crowd.
  14. The repetitive and monotonous action just simply doesn’t cut it by today standards, whilst hardcore fans might even find themselves let down by the overall production.
  15. The primary gameplay is fun, a very creative and enjoyable diversion, but it doesn't go anywhere. It simply doesn't lend itself to a continuously evolving experience.
  16. This is one wacky world the developers have created, and it perfectly captures the original title’s sense of humor, irreverence, and addictive fun.
  17. 68
Doesn't have enough depth and substance to be great. If you don't like its faux hip-hop style then you won't even find it good.
  18. Loaded with risque puns and kid-friendly hip-hop slang, TJ&E is fun - but forgettable fun. [1 Nov 2002, p.77]
  19. 63
Soporific. There is too much repetition and not enough excitement.
  20. It's almost embarrassing how behind the times this series has fallen. [Nov 2002, p.137]
  21. One of those games which you'll find to be a great laugh or a shallow bore. With not much to the gameplay in terms of variation, things can quickly get tedious.
  22. Just isn't very much fun... There's no zen underneath the zaniness, no pith under the perkiness, and no meat beneath the mirth.
  23. Released years after either of its predecessors, in turn borrows elements from both games but combines them in a way that, quite simply, isn't very fun at all.
  24. If you enjoy the first few levels and the repetitiveness of the gameplay and the jokes keep you laughing, you might enjoy the whole thing.

I think Toe Jam and Earl 3 is really cool because it's funny, creative and original.

This game feels super pointless. You slowly wander around lame environments and have uninspired objectives to complete. One redeeming feature is the original characters and style. I wanted to like them, but they need to be in a better game to be mainstays. Full Review »
