  • Summary: The Xbox version of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 is a sequel to the PS2 version (which is set in 2007), and it features its own storyline, level design, and cinematic sequences. Once again, you must lead a team of Special Forces operatives (the "ghosts") on a variety of dangerous missions. Equip your team with advanced weapons and gadgets, and then fight alongside them in East Asia. The game also supports online multiplayer matches, in both competitive and cooperative modes. Expand

  1. They do have some patchwork to do as far as menu interface and Lobby environment go, but as a friend remarked to me recently, "we don't buy games for their interface, we buy them for their gameplay", and gameplay is where Ubisoft's talents have shined brightest.
  2. This is the game that fans of simulated modern combat and Clancy fiction have been waiting for.

While the changes that have been made are pretty major, they were all implemented to enhance the experience, and it's definitely become a much more enjoyable game because of them.
  4. If it weren't for the somewhat unpolished enemy AI and placement, Ghost Recon 2 could have been a very realistic and engaging shooter. As it is, it feels a little out-of-kilter and more like a standard (but very good looking) shooter with some pacing issues.
  5. I just wish the gameplay had evolved more. It feels pretty familiar to me, but those who haven't played every tactical shooter in hte last couple years will find a fresh and exciting experience. [Jan 2005, p.130]
  6. An enjoyable tactical FPS. Although an add-on, it offers more content than many full-priced games do. [Sept. 05]
  7. If you run and gun like an idiot, expect your men to follow you straight into an early grave...A thiking man's firefight.

Awesome game! This adds the depth and realism that I was looking for on Ghost Recon! Tremendous graphics, realism and AI make this as close to combat as I can imagine without risking my life or fixing bayonettes!!! Expand

Honestly, the best video game I've ever played. Incredibly realistic and addicting.

If you like Rainbow 6 III, you'll love GR2. The team is a lot smarter than Ding's team mates. The backgrounds and environments are extreamly realistic. check out the water you'll sware its real. Game play is not easy and ordering teams to flank left or right by using your headset communicator is emersion on a grand scale. The online games are fun and you communicate with the 16 other players during the entire game and lobby. (unlike the mess calles Star Wars Battlefront). Highly recommend as a purchase. Collapse

I'm still trying to figure out how many people on this board are getting paid to give this game high marks. Everyone seems to be focusing on the really cool graphics and combat realism. I have played GR and GR2. GR is about as close to tactical simulated squad combat as there ever was. It was all about being able to granularly control your team and GR allowed that functionality flawlessly. In GR2 your best chances for survival in single mode would be to frag your team first and go it alone. The AI in GR was fair but the AI in GR2 is horrid. I would not give this game to my worst enemy.
