  • Summary: You may not be able to live like the legend, but now you can skate like him. Skate as the legendary Tony Hawk or choose from a dream team of 12 top pro skaters, including old favorites like Lasek, Thomas, Muska, and Steamer, as well as new talent like Gilfberg, Caballero, Koston, and Mullen. Or enjoy full customization abilities with the enhanced Create-a-Skater (now including female skaters) and the Skatepark Editor. Travel from L.A. to Tokyo, Suburbia to Skater's Island performing challenges and meeting goals. New moves include the Revert, which allows you to link vert tricks, and flatland tricks such as Caspers, the Primo, and Handstand Manual. If you're good, you can even unlock hidden pro footage. It's the same brilliant game all over again with some new bits. Buy it and be happy.
  2. If you purposely waited those extra months in hope that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 for the Xbox would be the definitive version, you made the right choice.
  3. By playing career mode, players can unlock a new level, which is amazing in multiplayer, and one of the most diverse environments in the game. [Apr 2002, p.83]

The Xbox version beats the other two in all the right ways.
  5. From the moment you kick Tony Hawk's 3 into action there’s this overwhelming feeling of perfection.
  6. Simply more of the same, but better. That's hardly a complaint, though, since that's what we begged for all along. [Apr 2002, p.71]
  7. The key problem lies in the positioning of the four buttons on the right side of the pad’s upper surface... They are too close together and too hard to distinguish by touch for the precise control THPS3 demands. In fact, it bordered on the unplayable.

The perfect skating simulation: simple, expansive, deep, and exaggerated, what all skating games should be.

I'd rate this as one of the best games ever. Being a port doesn't make it any less awesome. I'd take this over Tony Hawk Underground without hesitation. Expand

Greatest game ever... I have roughly two faults in the design of this game and the rest is unbelievably perfect. With the ability to create parks the fun never ends. Collapse

A very good game, improved slightly over THPS 2. The game gets very addictive but after you beat the game about 11 times it starts to get really boring. Mulitplayer is fun though and there a tonne more options when making your own character. Great game. Expand

Yes game were fun at first but the people laugh at me when I crash make me crazy I want them stop laugh. I find secret tape but no secret on it and when I grind on the rail I fall off. Game should be made less easy for people like me. Expand
