  1. While it isn't the lengthiest or most addictive product on the block, this offering still boasts a wealth of replay value.
  2. Aside from the inexcusable loading times that totally drag down the Totaled gameplay experience and a short single-player mode, the game’s multiplayer action, decent control scheme and level design make Totaled a better than average title for destruction derby fans not seen in a video games since, well, "Demolition Derby."
  3. The worst sin, however, is the appallingly long load times, not only before each event, but even when restarting the same event or just exiting to back to the selection screen. [August 2002, p.78]
  4. The sheer length of the Career mode will draw you in, and you can use the cars and levels that you unlock there in the Arcade and Multiplayer modes. [August 2002, p.136]
  5. 70
The glitches and sense of sterility make everything feel just a little out of alignment, but Totaled!'s arcade-sy core and multiplayer mode still make it fun. [August 2002, p.82]
  6. There's not nearly enough depth to this title, so replay value is completely dependant on how players enjoy the demolition derby action. If that's really all you want, then Totaled! should be viewed as a smashing success.
  7. Yes it has good and tight control, but acceleration and speed can be a real chore with some vehicles.
  8. 61
The lack of difficulty settings, a short career mode, and a somewhat poor display haunts this title.
  9. If you know you have the patience for long load times and like destruction derby, then the game is very rewarding.
  10. 42
The problem with the single-player experience is that the AI is horrible in two major ways.
  11. The load times literally suck all the fun out of the game.
  12. An exercise in sheer frustration. [Fall 2002, p.121]
  13. Yes, the cars look great, and their damage is awesome - but getting there isn't half, or any of the fun. [July 2002, p.87]
  14. A great technology demo for the box, and the best demo derby game around. [July 2002, p.82]
  15. The frustratingly bad physics in Totaled! make the game a thoroughly unentertaining experience.

Pros: Fun to play once you get into the game. Great damage effects. Cons: SLOW load times, even when trying to replay the same game. Unrealistic car handling. Cars just don't drive this way. I hope they release a patch for the load times. Full Review »
