Whether you want to build a major league franchise or just play two with your favorite team, competing in a complete game of Xbox baseball couldn't be easier or more fun.
  2. Entertainment Weekly
In the latest edition, crushing those 500-foot homers is still possible, but not nearly as fun as flashing the leather: Even a routine double play is elevated into breathtaking spectacle. [2 May 2003, p.79]
  3. Sega Sports has made a few tweaks and improvements that push WSB 2K3 into a class all by itself.
  4. There aren’t many baseball games I would call addictive, but this game is definitely one of those “need to pry the controller away from your hands” games.
  5. I love this game! I will be playing it a lot in the next 4 or 5 months. It’s the closest thing that I found to replicating that feeling of turning on the T.V. to watch Spring Training or heading down to “the corner” to watch my heroes play.

The best console baseball game I've ever played. If you love baseball, there is no other choice.
  7. It's simply the best and most addictive baseball game available this year... Spectacular.
  8. High production values, awesome details and options and generally involving play dynamics made last years' World Series one of the greatest ball games ever, and the minor improvements to this year's game seem to be enough to keep Sega Sports' franchise on top of the pack.
  9. Xbox Nation Magazine
Last year I called "World Series Baseball" the Mona Lisa of video baseball. This time around, it's even better. [Apr/May 2003, p.88]
  10. An amazing game, it can single-handedly rekindle the love of the pure sport of baseball that many fans lost (including myself) that fateful lost 1994 strike season.
  11. If you are not up to doing a franchise in this game it may be smart to avoid WSB, as the franchise mode is the bread and butter of this game.
  12. 90
Complete in nearly every way and is a good bet for casual fans who just want to slap a few balls out of the infield and diehards who will settle for nothing less than a full career simulation.
  13. Play Magazine
For 2003, Sega has upped the ante once again and has developed a near-perfect baseball game. [Apr 2003, p.70]
  14. Cheat Code Central
It's not a vast improvement over 2K2 but it's going to surprise the hell out of anyone weaned on PSX baseball games.
  15. Official Xbox Magazine
The year's best overall baseball title. It's got enough simulation to satisfy the hardcore and sufficient arcadeness to please the casual gamers. [Apr 2003, p.80]
  16. It comes with endless options and modes that are sure to keep you busy for hours and hours. With the Franchise mode alone, you could still be playing it in ten years with an unbelievable winning streak and setting new all-time records.

If there is one area where World Series Baseball 2K3 excels, it is in the franchise mode. Loaded with options, franchise mode is a micro-manager's dream.
  18. Not as deep or as complex as some of the other competitors in the field, World Series Baseball 2K3 is the perfect blend of an arcade baseball game and a hardcore sim.
  19. GMR Magazine
An amazing-looking game with some pretty serious muscle under the hood. If only the game actually played better - especially the batting - you'd have the "Madden" of baseball games. [Apr 2003, p.65]
  20. Electronic Gaming Monthly
WSB2K3's lifelike player models, fluid animations, and countless customization options help it stand out among this year's crop of baseball games. [Apr 2003, p.132]
  21. 80
The quality of the motion capture, stadium details, and playbook bring you closer to a true ballpark experience than does any other game.

Realistic simulation but wish the players looked more true to life!
