  1. The game itself does a good job of masking the appearance of the field, maintaining an illusion of 3D, and keeping the graphics consistent.

Not only is Xyanide a 3D space shooter but it is like no other you have ever seen or played. It's actually a benchmark title. [Dec. 2006, p.60]
  3. As an arcade space shooter, Xyanide doesn't break any new ground, but it is a solid entry that is fun. The flaws aren't enough to diminish an otherwise fun time with the original Xbox.
  4. So if you want an intense shooter with solid ground on every aspect, but nothing special in content or in extras, then pick up Xyanide, and bring yourself back to those local pizza place days, playing the arcade games we all love so much.
  5. Xyanide's unique take on the shmup genre and the fact that it's not only fun, but the only one of its kind make it very approachable.
  6. It's a shame that the controls weren't tighter and the level design weren't more varied, because this one could have been a classic. As it stands now, it's a title easily worth picking up for shooter fans tired of being stuck with R-Type.

Amazing game, far ahead of its time. Definitely the best of its genera. Underappreciated during its time like so many other hidden gems. A fewAmazing game, far ahead of its time. Definitely the best of its genera. Underappreciated during its time like so many other hidden gems. A few people complain about the controls, it was typical in those days for some people to go completely nuts of such trivial imperfections. If you enjoy playing shoot-em-up games, this will definitely the best you'll experience. The graphics are stunning, featuring endless hand crafted 3D levels coupled with amazing special effects. Once again, this was far ahead of it's time when originally released, and has held up extremely well with age. If you can find a used copy of this game anywhere online, definitely buy it, and cherish it forever! Full Review »

When you die, you don't scream in frsutration, nor do you say "Ah, that was my fault." Instead, you tend to find yourself saying, "Oh, did something hit me? I didn't realise. Full Review »
