In terms of the batting cursor interface, the GameCube version offers the tightest joystick control in the batter’s box with the Xbox version being a little too stiff and the PS2 version a little too loose.

ASB 2004 was made for baseball fans that run four or five fantasy baseball teams simultaneously, look deep into stats, and check the box scores from the Cactus League during the spring.

None of the other games come close to this one in terms of gee-whiz frills and bonus content. But ASB 2004 doesn't really get the job done on the field.

The gameplay is great and there are several playing modes that are a lot of fun (series, pick-up game, expansion team, franchise, etc.) but the broadcasters often say stuff that is not relevant to the game (i.e. "the infielder had to dive there" on a fly ball to the outfield) and it is impossible to update the rosters because only players with the exact same position can be traded.

This game is 100 times better than 2003 because it is much easier to play and all the modes are awesome. Oh one other thing... mxc is the best show on earth.
