Definitely one of the best games I have played on Gamecube. Even the occasional camera problem didnt hinder my enjoyment of this one.

One of the best action-platformers ever. Not since the 2D Super Mario titles has a title captured technical jumps, tight balances, and split second timing so well.

I am not one to look a gift-horse in the mouth, what is there is fun -- and fun is fun.

The camera angle problems are not show-stoppers - Pac-Man is still fun to play and easy to pick up for the most part.

The challenges are dutifully difficult [Apr 2002, p.147]

It doesn't have the graphics of say, Luigi's Mansion, but what it does it does well. If not for the camera problems it would seem that Namco has almost perfected it's own platformer formula.

Quite a fun game, and anyone who's the least bit excited by the history of gaming and the sights and sounds that started it all should enjoy it.

The only hitch the game has is a major pet peeve of mine. When you die, regardless of when you die in a level, you have to start it all over again, from scratch.

The camera hampers the experience considerably, but the fun of the main game itself is still there.

While Pac-Man World 2 uses generally the same formula as most other platform games available today, it still manages to stay above the rest with brilliant use of Namcos mascot and wonderfully produced sound.

The only noticeable difference between this and the PS2 version of PMW2 is that the load time has been reduced significantly. [May 2002, p.113]
IGN
It executes on the control and design elements of the experience much better than other, more recent platformers have.

Essentially a good game hampered by some careless oversights. Some levels will force players to endure countless deaths (falling into bottomless pits), the camera system is archaic and some bosses are cheap as hell.

While it doesnt do anything new, its nice enough if youre desperate for something in the colourful platform adventure genre. Sadly, its difficult for all the wrong reasons.

While lacking energetic personality and clever presentation, Pac-Man World 2 does just enough to entertain on its traditional platforming mechanics alone. [Apr 2002, p.56]
Game Informer
The developers failed to develop a camera system capable of dealing with the 3D action. [Apr 2002, p.79]
All Game Guide
It's a shame more levels weren't built around these activities or the mazes, since the platform action gets tedious.
