Terrific visuals, excellent gameplay features, and lots of style will have Dreamcast "agents" uncovering the secrets of Confidential Mission and loving every minute of it.

Although the length is a bit disappointing, "Another World" and the Agent Academy do help keep things interesting beyond the (very fun) main game.

This frantic shooter in the James Bond style will leave players visibly shaken…and definitely stirred.

While this shooter hasn’t been a total hit in the arcades, Confidential Mission is right on target for the Dreamcast.

The gameplay is fast and fluid throughout the game, and contains some of the best looking shoot-‘em-up action we’ve ever seen before.
Da Gameboyz
With great graphics and addictive gameplay Sega again shows why they are a leader in both the arcade and home videogame market. The only real problem here is that this game has to be played with a light gun.
GamerWeb Sega
Fun while it lasts, but the main mode hardly lasts. Thankfully there's plenty of goodies to keep you occupied and at only $19.99, this is a great deal. Lightgun owners shouldn't hesitate.

You really can’t get more bang for your buck with Confidential Mission. If you like playing super spy and shooting up bad guys, this one’s for you.

The two biggest knocks against Confidential Mission are the aforementioned lack of real innovation and the game’s short length. You can finish the game in about fifteen minutes.

Sega has the lightgun shooter formula down to perfection with Confidential Mission as you're bombarded by terrorists coming at you from every direction with guns blazing.
DC Swirl
If you enjoyed "Virtua Cop" or "HOTD" in the past, and have $20 and a light gun to spare..."Confidential Mission" is your next trip down the videogame aisle. It's as simple as that.

Will be warmly received by those jonesin’ for a hit of simulated gunplay mayhem. For the rest of us, it’s a worth a shot then best forgot.

Attempts to bring back to the DC the excitement that HOTD2 gave us and, as we all know, it's not 1999 anymore, and the Dreamcast is no spring chicken.

You shoot the enemies and there is no blood. Pretty bad. The lack of control and cheesy storyline make this game a rental only title.

Unfortunately, Hitmaker's quirky sense of style and revising of existing formulas are all but absent from Confidential Mission, though it's doubtful these things could've saved the game from its well-worn premise.

I'm sure you'll find this Confidential Mission exactly as you'd picture it. Short and to the point with lots of gun fodder.

Nobody makes lightgun shooters quite like Sega. But while this would have you happily pumping in the pound coins at the arcade, it doesn't have the longevity to make it an essential home purchase.

A few scattered mini-games and some creative segments help to break up the been-there, done-that monotony, but still don't manage to extend the game's lifespan more than a couple of hours.

HOT SH... It felt like I could sleep with MY partner after we beat the game. I personally like how everyone comes out at you, Guards, cops, priests; all while the annoying fatman is still popping junk running away. Definitely good if you're riding purple hills...Or Just crunked up.
