Hot Games
Is it the best 2D fighting game around? Those that argue that "Marvel vs. Capcom 2" or "Street Fighter Alpha 3" are better forget that it's basically the same engine. SFIII:DI will put you to the test with better AI and harder opponents.

Games Radar UK (Pre-2006)
The characters actually have... well... character. We know their history, their allegiances, their grudges, and even the colour of their panties in certain circumstances.

Since this is one of the best fighting games to date, you don't even have to be a die-hard fan to enjoy this.

Gaming Age
Super tight gameplay combined with fun characters and an over abundance of smooth, hand drawn animation all leads to the solid "Double Impact."

AllDreamcast
The old, dated look to the series is gone, and what we've got here is a 2D fighter that not only plays great, but looks great as well. You can't go wrong with that combination.

Game Fan
I'll just put it this way: If you've been a Street Fighter fan for the past number of years, like myself, then "Street Fighter III: Double Impact" for the Dreamcast will be in your fighting collection, especially since you're getting two games in one.

Sega X
It's a departure from the Alpha and Versus series, returning to the roots from where Street Fighter sprang.

Daily Radar
"Street Fighter III: Double Impact" doesn't have all the bells and whistles that other SF titles have, but its fighting engine is so clean and deep that it is a joy to play for old schoolers.

IGN
"Alpha III" wins hands down in all senses.

DC Swirl
Recommended, if you're willing to invest the time and six-button controllers to learn the layers of nuisance and depth that go into controlling a 7.2" tall, 445 lb. German wrestler named Hugo (or a Brazilian Capeoira female fighter named Elena that weighs considerably less... ahem!).

Stick with it, find a friend to play it with, and "Street Fighter 3: Double Impact" has almost everything you'll ever need from a 2D fighter.

Da Gameboyz
This is a game best played with some form of arcade stick if you can get one.

GamePro
Hardcore fans are going to be on automatic and get it right away, but it's a tough situation for the average fighting fan.

Planet Dreamcast
The Street Fighter series continues to offer a depth of play that allows masters of the game to truly be masters. Anyone who considers themselves a fighting game fan should own this title.

Great Street Fighter game, but only for purists.

Game Revolution
The game feels like a return to what made "Street Fighter 2" such a blast back in the day.

Unfortunately, "Street Fighter 3: Double Impact" features only a limited amount of characters, and few gameplay options.

The game did add a parry maneuver that, when mastered, really changed the face of the game.
