An easy choice for party games. As for a single player game, though it contains cool mini-games and nice customization features, the lack of depth in the gameplay and that annoying AI make NBA Hoopz a game that you grab only when you have company over.

The various modes of play and excellent multiplayer aspects do a good job of keeping things fresh, but sooner or later, you'll find it tough not to look at NBA Hoopz as tired and cheap, and that dreaded "been there, done that" feeling will rear it's ugly head.

There are a few new mini-games thrown in, and the crazy cheat codes are back, but they're a fleeting distraction at best. This game is worth nothing to people who have played one of these before.

After playing a four player game in NBA Hoopz, we ended up going right back to "NBA Showtime" because it is overall, just a better game.
