After months of 2K1, GameDay, and Madden, Blitz is a welcome and very fun addition to the football lineup.

Truthfully, there isn't much in the way of competition for Sega's "NFL 2K1" when it comes to Dreamcast football titles. However, NFL Blitz 2001's quirky gameplay, rich features, and drool-inducing visuals make it an excellent alternative.

More of the same, only more better.

If you haven't picked up NFL Blitz 2001, and you want a fast paced, no rules, slamfest for you and your buds, then you need to go get this game. Still here??
CNET Gamecenter
While it's certainly not a revolutionary offering, NFL Blitz 2001 contains a nice variety of gameplay modes and exhaustive editing features that should keep fans of frenetic arcade football happy.
DC Swirl

A faster framerate, new party modes and an improved play selection screen help this title remain heads and tails above the competition.
Sega X
It's more of the same, whether you like it or not.
Happy Puppy
I'm not saying that the 2001 version is a bad game. It's just one that suffers from the same engine that has been tried over and over again for the lifespan of the series.

The music in Blitz 2001 is pretty bad and will end up annoying the hell out of you.

A grim reminder of how lackluster sequels and apathy can kill even a promising franchise.
