The best parts of the game, ultimate mode and the new levels, are only available to those who have completed the arduous tasks it takes to labour over level 80, and it's a surprisingly small number of players who've managed to complete the game three times over on increasing difficulty levels. For that small population, this is an excellent expansion.

PSOv2 really doesn't give fans enough to warrant the steep dip in the wallet. With the right online experience, PSO can be a really fun game, but between the original and Version 2, the scales just don¹t add up.
