What really makes the game, though, like the first, is the overall racing atmosphere.

But bottom line... If you like racing games AT ALL... you should own Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2!

IGN
Chances are you'll find Xtreme racing through Tokyo to be an experience worthy of being called this year's best Dreamcast racing game.

Daily Radar
TXR 2 delivers enough improvements and additions on the original formula to keep the fans happy and give the first-timers a racing experience that lives up to today's tough standards.

AllDreamcast
The game's control is dead on, and if you think it still needs a little tweaking, you can adjust the brakes and steering to your liking.

Planet Dreamcast
The result is something that comes close to being a masterpiece for its uniqueness within the racing genre and the sheer fun of its gameplay.

Sports Gaming Network
It fails to fully address some of the graphical problems in the game, but it does improve the depth of this single player only title.

Given the free-flowing, non-linear nature of the game, gamers will either love the freedom to cruise around, or hate the lack of a real objective.

Gaming Age
The graphics are some of the most impressive available on the console, it's certainly darn addictive and while there are a few nuisances here and there, TXR2 is a worthy purchase for racer fans.

Unfortunately,TXR2 ends up being less of a game than its predecessor, despite double the number of opponents and a vastly larger racing area.

DC Swirl
Your mileage may vary, but this is one heck of an enjoyable game IF you're into competition more than racing, and into challenging one-player challenges than racing thrills.

To say this is the poor man’s street racing game is quite an understatement.

I really enjoy this game. It's just that too many things slow down what could have been a truly amazing experience.

The first thing that should be done is to fix the frame rate problem. Next, throw some cops in there -- after all, I am breaking the law.

The variety of cars and courses make it the best racing game ever for dreamcast.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 Rulez!!!

This game gets a perfect 10. I love it. You can customize your car from bumper to bumper. Once i picked up the controller i couldnt put it down. This game is CRAZY. These game developers got some mad skills. If you want the feel of illegal drag racing at high speeds with your addrenaline pumping this is tha game for you racers out there. This game has got the graphics, sound, and some pretty tight cars. This game is definately a 10.

James R. gave it a 9:
When i first got mydreamcast i wanted a street racing game. thats when i heard about tokyo xtreme racer 2 and i rented it and it was hella tight. so the next week i went out and bought it. the only reason i gave it a 9 was because they shoulda put cops in the game if you speed or when you race it would be a lot more fun.

Steven M. gave it a 10:
When I first got my Dreamcast I had heard about Tokyo Xtreme Racer, bought it, and fell in love with it. When I heard that there was a sequel to it, I just had to get it. If you are a fan of illegal street runs, then this is definitely the game for you.

This game is hella tyte....Better than Gran Turismo..i think....If the gran turismo series let u customize body kits or even flash your opponents, then they got a winner, but they don't ...this game surpasses the regular racers...
