This is a fantastic invention of the Elebits series on the DS. Everything on a mechanical level is really well done.

Konami imitates the Pokémon's style in a not revolutionary game whose best point is the large amount of puzzles ready to be solve. It has no violence, it hasn't a mature story, but it's probably one of the best adventures for the Nintendo DS.

Collecting Elebits in a 2D setting becomes tedious after just a short time; however, the game excels where it emulates two of its adventure brethren, Zelda and Pokémon.

I think that the console game is a more ambitious design, but the Nintendo DS title – a non-violent, kid-friendly adventure -- is pretty rewarding too.

It has great art, fun game play, a good story and it's a dream game for you collection junkies out there. It just goes to show; sometimes it pays to think small.

Don't expect an original game with an extremely interesting story when you are going to play Eledees DS. Just enjoy the simple though varied gameplay, the cute looks and catchy soundtrack. Before you’ll even realize it, you’re twenty hours into this entertaining videogame.

Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero is a fun little adventure game that’s simple enough for young gamers to enjoy, but substantial enough to keep us older gamers happy. It’s a unique, charming little adventure, and DS owners with a taste for the cute and colorful will find it worth their time.

Initial excitement that this may be the next big thing soon subsides, but the adventure that remains is solid, entertaining stuff. [Apr 2009, p.64]

Despite not being a technical wonder nor a very original game between the multiple titles of its sort on Nintendo DS, Eledees is a fun game, entertaining and with an interesting story which above all stands out for its good use of the tactile interface.

The Adventures of Kai and Zero lacks the innovation of the original Elebits, but the obstacle-laden gameplay is engaging throughout and there are some fun boss battles for players to look forward to as well. It’s not the brightest adventure on the DS, but it does have enough juice to provide some kid-friendly enjoyment.

Nonetheless, Elebits is a cute, enjoyable diversion. [Jan 2009, p.90]
Everyeye.it
The second Elebits game is profoundly different from the Wii version: it’s a bi-dimensional adventure game, which tightly follows the rules of the genre. It is funny and various, even if the riddle resolution may seems too easy for the experienced videogamers. Technical system is functional, but the art design lacks imaginativeness and “courage” (it seems a “standard fantasy tale” concept). Dedicated to young gamers.

The second Elebits makes its way to a new platform with a new focus, but it still makes for a very fun adventure.

Catching the Eledees is motivating, despite the dated graphics and the uninspired music, but fails to reach the quality level of the Pokémon games.

Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero is a fun DS game worth experiencing. Sure, it has a few problems, but the enjoyable gameplay will keep you busy for hours.
