Summary

Flipper Critters is set in an imaginary world filled with a huge range of settings, from town squares and mountain valleys to towering castles and even the surface of the moon. All of the traditional pinball features are still there, including ramps, sinkholes, bumpers, jackpots, gates and goals – just in a different form than you've ever seen them. Both display screens in full 3D – a first! A feast of missions and objectives that help to advance the story. A high degree of freedom in deciding what missions to do next and where to travel, making each game a different experience from the last. A mesmeric three-dimensional, cartoon-like world. Villages, mountain tops and even the surface of the moon become pinball tables. Fast paced arcade action. Fabulous sound and music. State-of-the-art ball physics, giving fast and responsive control. Wi Fi features include: 2 player multiplay for each mini game, called duel. Three kinds of mini games linking the pinball tables in Story Mode - as you proceed unlock them. Each mini game has 4 very different visuals. Magic Bridge: You race against the other player and first past the line wins. Gravity: your goal is to make your enemy submarine sink by picking up driller icons. [Conspiracy Entertainment]

Cheat Code Central

With some perseverance, and a little patience, players will find Flipper Critters offers a lengthy and challenging quest. The pinball action is suitable for all skill levels, yet tough enough to endure in the hands of pros.

Game Chronicles

It is great to see decent quality games releasing at bargain-basement prices. Flipper Critters might not be the best pinball game on the market, but it is well worth the minimal investment.

IGN

Whether this is an act of desperation or simply a profit strategy isn't clear…but at the very least, the price is right. It's not the best pinball game on the market, but it's honestly not a bad game if you're willing to put up with some of the quirky warts.

GamingTrend

The game isn't very good as an overall package, although the budget price might make it worthwhile for pinball enthusiasts looking for a couple of new tables to play.

Pocket Gamer UK

Combining a colourful cartoon world with the pinball table, Flipper Critters provides an interesting – if unspectacular – mixture of gameplay.

DailyGame

If you're tired of the traditional pinball game then you might find Flipper Critters mildly amusing for its quirky style and large environments, but if you're looking for something more traditional with quick gameplay or point delivery system then you might want to look elsewhere.

Zentendo

A good attempt at trying something that is very original, but it appears the game has too many rough edges and unpolished gameplay. A bit more meat to the game and some more personality would have elevated this to a very solid title.

Da Gameboyz

At the end of the day it is really hard to categorize who this game is targeted at, but it is my honest opinion that hardcore gamers will want to stay away from this title and only those young or casual gamers on the go may find interest in it.

Gamers' Temple

It may have been a good idea to combine a cute platform game with pinball, but the result will frustrate as much as entertain its target audience.

NGamer UK

As a pinball game, it's up there. As entertainment, it stares blankly at you and occasionally farts. Concrete-proof pinball belongs in the arcade.

AceGamez

I have always loved well-executed kids' games and hated games that pander to kids to make a quick buck. This is neither - it is a very mediocre and forgettable little budget game that isn't something I would recommend for any child or adult.

Nintendo Power

All in all, the game would have benefited from less character and more clarity. [Aug 2007, p.88]

Digital Entertainment News

This game's promise falls as soon as you open the shrink wrap. Put this into the system, and the game only delivers disappointment. It is an original idea, although poorly executed that deserves some mention.
