Whether you've seen the movie or not or love or loathe the sweet smell of Lucha; you must do the honorable thing and feed your NDS this spicy burrito. [Nov. 2006, p.102]

Nacho Libre isn't perfect, but it is a game with a lot of character. The sense of humor lends a lot to the title, and the wrestling game is entertaining, once the controls and rules have been puzzled out.

I admit that I wasn't expecting much from Nacho Libre--games based on comedy flicks don't have the best track records--but beneath the intentionally goofy presentation, silly moves, and photo-cutout-style characters, there's a pretty good wrestling game. [Dec. 2006, p.115]

You've got to give Nacho Libre some style points for its patently insane cutscenes and use of video clips from the movie. Just don't expect to have any fun actually playing it.

A series of unpredictable laughs and little else, disguised within a vibrant luchadore mask. [Sept 2007, p.70]

IGN
There's a solid shell here in this Nintendo DS product. There are a ton of extras, and it's nice to see all these Nacho Libre elements, like snippets from the movie and publicity shots, as well as Jack Black instead of some lame look-alike that most flick-based games have to resort to. What Nacho Libre lacks is fun and balance.
