Cheat Code Central
Overall, Robocalypse is a solid and deep game with incredible presentation. It’s certainly one of the best RTS games on the system to date.

Ultimately, what makes Robocalypse such a remarkable game is that no one expected it to be this good.

Robocalypse offers fairly conventional RTS gameplay, but it is a well-oiled machine that plays very well. What is really unique here is the gleefully absurd humor and art style.

Set in a world of wise cracking, battling robots, Robocalypse offers madcap weaponry and uproarious destruction, all embedded in a deep strategy war game.

The DS finally has an RTS capable of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the system’s wide selection of great turn-based strategy games. Don’t let the cartoon vibe throw you—Robocalypse has enough strategy goodness to keep any genre fan happy.

In what has to be one of the best games I have seen on the Nintendo DS Robocalypse is a great real time strategy game.
Robocalypse is easily one of the best portable strategy games out there. It’s fun, has a nice sense of humor, and the simplified control scheme works well overall. If you can find friends with the game, you can battle in four-player action fests.

Help save the human race from evil robots in this funny and satisfying strategy game for the DS.

It's a winning formula, so familiarity isn't necessarily a bad thing, but even a little gameplay innovation would have been welcome. [Dec 2008, p.98]
GamePro
It's an easy game to pick up and I would recommend it to RTS lovers who game on the go. [Nov 2008, p.104]
Game Informer
With smarter AI and more diverse challenges, this title would be worth noting. As it stands, Robocalypse merely exists.

But everything here is still solidly done, funnier than almost any other game, and holds a unique place in the DS library. You really should start up your own Robocalypse.
Robocalypse is shockingly close to being a fantastic game. Everything it needs to be a solid handheld Warcraft clone is there, from the solid and well-balanced gameplay to the reasonable adaptations of gameplay limitations for use on a Nintendo DS.
An intriguing marriage of direct and indirect control plus a serviceable gather-build-annihilate template don't quite redeem Robocalypse from a sheer lack of substance.

Alyson S. gave it a10:
First off all, I got a chance to play this at a video game conference in CA. Walking by the Robocalypse booth immediately caught my attention. I think that it was the cartoonish/catchy artwork on display. This RARE RTS for Nintendo DS is a must for all DS owners, again, I must repeat RARE! The art in this game is beautiful and the characters suck the player into this robocalyptic world . Overall, the game does a excellent job carrying out your commands. For a handheld the graphics are great and it is easy to see all the smaller details necessary to make that quick military action. ***What's really cool about this game is that you can connect to your friends via Wi-Fi and engage in multi-player deathmatches as as well as an array of different domination modes Finally, the strategy behind the game as well as the overall story line synnergize into a great player experience. This is a great game for the holidays. Curl up on your coach to a nice fireplace, make yourself or your kids some hot coco and play this at your pace.
