PGNx Media
A pretty compelling game on the Nintendo DS. It is structured enough to give you some purpose in what you’re doing but contains enough of the more open-endedness of the other modes to keep things interesting.

It's a little clumsy in control in some places (the Alien Invasion and Ratticator missions are particularly cumbersome), but the interface works well in others, and even with the departure from some more traditional Sims elements, the game still feels a part of the same world.

There is enough micro-management (keeping your hotel clean, your guests happy, and your sanity intact) that when you get things accomplished you feel good about it, but the game never overwhelms you.

It’s a more linear experience, but it hasn’t lost touch with what makes The Sims unique and appealing.

Despite feeling -- and looking -- somewhat limited in scope and ambition on the Nintendo DS, The Sims 2 offers a reasonable measure of fun if you’re willing to forego the pleasures of simulation for a more narrative-oriented experience.

The best case for Sims in you pocket is on the DS where the conceit is that you’re running a hotel. [Mar 2006, p.89]
Next Level Gaming
There are still the variables in the game, like how you choose to interact with other people, but the game is fairly limited.

The storyline is DS-exclusive and contains a lot of tie-ins, but if you're looking for the authentic Sims experience then you'll have to stick with the PC version.

The content that's there can occasionally be fun, but there just wasn't enough of it to keep me engaged. [Feb 2006, p.112]
Deeko
The mundane is an integral part of any Sims game but so is having control over your character. In this title, that vital ingredient is absent and the game suffers, lacking fun and purpose.

It is absolutely impossible to recommend this game to anyone, and indeed adherents to the Sims franchise will probably like it less than the average joe for its cavalier disregard for franchise staples.

A great curiosity for a day, but it's not a place you'd want to stay. [Jan 2006, p.114]
Boomtown
I believe EA could have created a very nice 2D/Top down view version of the game to suit the DS but instead it thought that a liner mission based structure would be more fun for the player and in my opinion they could not have been more wrong.

Macaela W. gave it an8:
Well, this game is quite fun, actually, i think its quite amuzing. but, however, there are some things, that dissapoint me. The fact that it is too short, in 4 weeks im on the very last level. there is nothing to do in some places, they should make it more interesting. and the fact that when you talk to somebody you do what THEY want you to do. after you have bought all the places, whats the city hall for? nothing ! the saloon, BORRRING!! i think its great that they added places like, the gym and the casino is quite amuzing. tho, it could use ALOT of work! and i mean alot! this game is really fun, and i recomend it.
James C. gave it a7:
This game (although I did not complete it all the way through) is very fun and addictive, the missions although a bit odd make you feel happy and accomplished upon finishing them despite replacing the basic needs (hunger, bladder etc.) with a sanity bar? It is quite a good adaption of the sims 2 for a handheld console that you can't seem to put down.
Ahmed G. gave it a0:
The game is completely rubbish it is VERY hard to control and why do you want to watch people walk around reading newspapers.
Claire D. gave it a6:
Disappointing game. It's just way too short - you're finished before you know it. A few of the locations in the game are hardly used and could have been made more interesting. Nothing happens in City Hall aside from asking to build rooms or going to the toilet. More fun features could have been added all over the place.
Shauna G. gave it a9:
it is a good game i mean it is way better on the nintendo DS beacause you could play on it where when ever you want ! There should be more games that are only for game cube, xbox, ps2..... that should have the same game on the nintendo DS!
