If you don't mind missing out on cooperative play, and if the 3D dogfight addition appeals to you, it's certainly worth the extra ten bucks.

Not only is it a blast to play, but its presentation is over-the-top and in your face. The music. The graphics. The combat. The SPOILERS!!!

The best portable game in the franchise to date (it annihilates "LEGO Star Wars" for the GBA). Impressive. Most impressive. [July 2005, p.98]
Game Chronicles
Revenge of the Sith may not go down as an all-time classic, but the innovative gameplay, excellent sound effects, and smooth graphics make it an enjoyable video game foray into the world of Star Wars.

As a fan of brawlers and Star Wars, I loved this game. The space combat offers a bit of variety to keep the casual gamer interested. The brawling portions are top notch, so fans of Golden Axe, the Turtles series, and the X-Men arcade game will be very pleased with the action in this title, especially if you’re a Star Wars fan.

The aerial combat missions are a joy to see and almost steal the show, promising greater things to come (taking down AT-ATs in snow speeders I hope!) particularly when you can go head to head against your mates.

A strong beat’ em up sidescroller with some amazing 3D starfighter missions on the side.

I put out a big thank you to Ubisoft for not just cashing in on the Star Wars name and actually making a good game that all can enjoy.

While it plays like the GBA version, the DS gets good multiplayer action worth the purchase price alone.

The balance of enemies is deftly tuned to not hold you in one place for too long. [June 2005, p.86]
WHAM! Gaming
The only big problems with the game itself are that it isn't all that long, and it doesn't take advantage of the dual screens.

Though it comes off feeling low-tech (and it is, really), Revenge of the Sith for the DS is more or less on equal footing with the GBA version it shares so much in common with. The 3D multiplayer mode may well be worth the $10 price difference...but only if you’ve got friends to play it with.

The space combat in the DS version may not look pretty in still screens, but in action these sequences are a great surprise.

People will either love it or hate it. The cartoon graphics are pretty good for what they are, but some people may have wanted a more realistic look and feel to the movie.
The 3D levels and the multiplayer mode that's built around them are more than good enough to justify the 10 extra dollars that the DS game costs.

While certainly not the last Star Wars game we'll ever see on the Nintendo DS, you couldn't ask for the actual film license to go out on a better note.

The space fights almost sell this game by themselves. However, the game lacks enough difficultly or motivation to offer gamers with a long and rewarding experience.

I can describe the overall feel of this game in one word: repetitive. Levels, enemies, graphics, music, almost everything feels repeated at least once in this game. It’s hard to even give this a rental, as the game lasts a few hours at most.

And yet, for all that I find wrong with this game, namely the lazy copy n’ paste treatment RotS has received, I still loved playing it. I could not put it down.

Trust me: The nostalgia is lost after you bash your hundredth battle droid or start getting creamed by the enemies' cheap gang-up-on-you tactics. [July 2005, p.116]
Game Informer
The only good that can come from this game is sending it as a prank gift to Jake Lloyd with a note reading "You aren't the only one who ruined Star Wars." [July 2005, p.126]

Francesco G. gave it a6:
This game SUCKS! It's not worth yuor $$. Its graphics are poor, the gameplay is dull, and the controls are basic! This game is only good on Xbox and PS2. This is a type of game for Gameboy Color except battling with starships. If you're a big Star Wars fan, go ahead and buy this. But be warned!
Raya gave it a4:
It's just a gameboy style beat em up. Very dull and boring levels. The 3D flight sections are just as basic. Fine on the gameboy, poor on the DS. Yet another developer let's us down.
Andrew J. gave it a7:
The game it's self was a in-depth and mostly accurate, but the graphics were just short of expectation.
Steve J. gave it a2:
Graphics alright but thats about the only good thing. Boring gameplay and useless controls. Doesn't perform well with the dual screen function. My advice : Don't buy this game!!
Steve C. gave it a10:
About halfway through I started slaughtering like a master. The game and I were almost as one. I could do everything I wanted to because I had mastered the controls. The boss battles are freakin' sweet, and the multiplayer is like a free game included. Unlocking all the other ships is a huge challenge, which I'm proud to say I've completed. EGM doesn't know what it's talking about.
Philip G. gave it a10:
The graphics are great, the multiplayer rules and the characters are unstoppable! Well I can give you a couple of words: amazing and it's a gift for your DS.
Calvin B. gave it a10:
Super great game.
