These mini games were definitely needed too as the story mode itself is exceptionally short, clocking in at maybe three hours tops. Equally disappointing, there’s no wireless multiplayer of any sort.

76
GamingTrend
A passably decent game, all but ruined by some gameplay flaws and a lack of immersiveness.

72
GameSpot
A good pick for young players and experienced gamers alike, but buyer beware: Once you finish the main quest, how long the game card will remain in your DS will depend primarily on how much you like the included minigames.

72
N-Insanity
A decent single player and full use of the DS’s features along with a fair amount of content makes Tak worth at least trying out if you really like platformers. I just wish that the racing portions were better done.

Gamezilla!
Quite frankly you need to be a fan of the games or the TV show merely to know what is going on.

Nintendo Power
There's a surprisingly deep power-up menu as well, but it's overkill for the game's target audience. [Nov 2005, p.103]

VGPub
The mini-games help keep things interesting, and the ability to replay them, as well as other unlockable content really help out the replay value. Unfortunately, poor level design and uninspired combat drag the game down well below its potential.

65
PALGN
With a poor story, short quest mode and no real reason to come back to the game there could be better choices for those in need of a platformer for christmas.

65
Game Chronicles
The tactile mini-games were inspired, but the actual platforming elements were simply average. The graphics were decent, the extras largely boring and the difficulty a little easy.

63
GameZone
The unfriendly bits clearly out weigh the good ones. Which is sad because it looks like there was real potential here with the decent graphics, too bad the overall experience left me feeling a bit drab.

IGN
My biggest problem with Tak: The Great Juju Challenge was that I got nothing out of it. I sat and played through it, and picked it up on occasion over the weekend as well, but I don't remember almost a single moment of it.

58
Gaming Age
There are only a couple of major complaints about the game. Length is a major issue, as the game only has a playable span of maybe 2-4 hours.

40
Modojo
The story really sucks, the font is ugly, and it's sometimes difficult figuring out where to go.
