Game Informer
Anyone with a taste for action sports will love getting sick with this game. [Feb 2002, p.87]
Electronic Gaming Monthly
What gives Mirra the slight edge over its competition is the games modifier system that, at the press of a button, lets you tweak and customize nearly every trick in the game. [Feb 2002, p.164]
Gamezilla!
Extremely engaging and challenging. The control system for pulling off tricks was intuitive and was picked up quickly but some of the challenges were frustrating.

Huge parks to crash through, a wide array of famous riders and tricks, and familiar Tony Hawk-style gameplay all add up to a solid offering from Acclaim.

Loses points for its camera and sometimes frustrating design, but it's too fun to ignore.

Featuring vast levels and an extremely flexible trick system, the ambitious second iteration of the Mirra series improves on some of its past faults but still lacks the spit and polish needed to make it truly great.

With the excessive amount of tricks available, well planned and superbly designed skate parks, and solid soundtrack, it almost makes you forget that there's a guy named Mat Hoffman waiting in the wings.

In this journalists opinion, it was a lot easier to perform tricks on the GameCube version of this game than the Xbox version, thanks to Nintendos comfortable and form-fitting controller.

The game offers an astounding amount of length and replayability in single player mode, not to mention thirteen types of multi-player games and secrets to unlock.

Some quiet and mildly distracting gaming, but also instils the feeling that youd rather ditch your ride in favour of something sexier like, dare we say it, a skateboard.

The wonderful level designs and slick character animations are hampered by draw-in, some slowdown, and poor collision detection.

The sound track? Sublime and Ozzy Osbourne - it doesn't get any better than that. [Dec 2001, p.168]
GameSpot
[It] does not suffer from any single huge, crippling flaw; rather, a handful of smaller problems plague the game and keep it from achieving BMX greatness.

Joe gave it a 1:
This game is terrible. It completely rips off THPS in every way, but comes up incredibly short. The graphics are bad, the sound track sucks, the frame-rate is terrible, and THE CONTROLS DON'T WORK MOST OF THE TIME!!! This game is pure evil. steal it from the store before you support Aklaim in this one.
Jesse S. gave it an 8:
Gangstarr is on the soundtrack...Gotta love Guru man.. I've been skateboarding since launchramps and streetplants and i like this game more than Tony Hawks pro cash-cow. (even though i hate having bikers in the skatepark..lol)
Ryan M. gave it a 6:
It's trying to be the Tony Hawk of biking, but its nowhere close. it's boring afer about 3 days, it's incredibly mediocre.
Terrence B. gave it a 10:
This game is one of a kind, you play it and you cant stop its so fun.The tricks are incredible and the dave mirra freestyle bmx revolution will keep going with a great game that has the best crashes ive ever seen. LoL.
Bruce C. gave it a 5:
Very average - and a blatant ripoff of Tony Hawk, subbing bikes for skateboards. C'mon guys, show a little originality!
Bafy D. gave it a 10:
