It's definitely not a serious look in to the franchise, but this game has been marinating in fun for months, and the goodness has soaked all the way in.

Overall, the faults of Lego Star Wars can be forgiven just to play as a Lego General Grievious swinging four lightsabers, or as Yoda bouncing around, or as Chewbacca.

For the young crowd the game is wonderfully accessible and for the older crowd it will not fail to pull you into its charming interpretation of the Star Wars saga’s prequels.

Simple. As easy as breathing but hugely entertaining. A 'kids' game that can be played by anyone. [NGC]

It has everything a family-oriented title needs: it has personality, puzzles, cooperative modes, replay value, low violence, a lack of frustrating difficulty, and most importantly, it has Darth Vader.

Lego Star Wars is a fun, adventurous one or two-player game for the whole family, and it features all the recent Star Wars lore and more active scenes for those who just love a good, old fashioned Star Wars fight. It’s a quick trip, though, and the game is quite easy to play, even with the few difficult puzzles and racing/shooting sequences.

Traveller's Tales delivers a short but inviting adventure that makes deft use of both of its almost arbitrary licenses.

Nintendo Insider
A solid title, with an exceptional co-op mode, lots of unlockables, and let’s face it, a better ending than the actual trilogy it’s based on.

The level design is mostly bland, the controls aren't as tight as they should be. [Dec 2005, p.120]

Great game! Short and easy, but loads of fun. Free play is wonderful fun. Highly reccomend this game for all you chaps. Fish and chips and all that.

Josh K. gave it a9:
Almost as good fun as the real LEGO Star Wars sets. Some annoying camera angles aside, this is a real treat.
