The Practice and Quick Fish modes let you get started right away, but in the more in-depth Tournament Mode you start as a amateur fisher with your sights set on the pros. Each tournament competition has its own set of rules and if you place in the top three you will win new lures and advance to the next round. Fortunately, in the early stages of Tournament Mode a guide will teach you the difference between a sinker and a lunker. Pay attention to these lessons because once you go pro you will be on your own. [Nintendo]

Not quite great, but far from awful. As a result, you're far more likely to love than hate it.

A fairly well-rounded angling title that doesn't really jump off the deep end in any particular area. [Feb 2002, p.100]
