A futuristic racing game inspired by "F-Zero" for the Super NES and "F-Zero X" for the Nintendo 64. A quarter-century after the heroic events of "F-Zero" for the Super NES, the descendents of famous racers like Captain Falcon put their their driving skills to the test in 10 brand new high-speed hovercraft, six of which have to be unlocked by overcoming the gutsy competition. F-Zero Maximum Velocity features hovercraft racing in four different five-track series, plus a bonus track and a track that is only available in Single-Pak multiplayer mode. Jumps, speed boosts and other track features add to the high-speed challenge. [Nintendo]

A technical marvel. It moves so fast, and so smoothly, that you'd be forgiven for forgetting that you're playing it on a handheld console.

It’s extremely fast, it’s even more intense, and it has replay value to boot. What more could you ask for in an arcade racer?

A great, if overly hard revamp, of the classic SNES racer.

The game can get rather frustrating because of the control scheme, but once you have them mastered it can be quite fun.

Metaloki gave it a 10:
I bought this a long time ago when I first got a GBA and I'm STILL playing this game. It's just that good of a remake.

j.p. gave it an 8:
Graphics aren't the best, but the gameplay makes up for that Nice handling, which really requires you to think twice about taking that u-turn at 'maximum velocity'.

Caleb L. gave it a 10:
It's got amaxing graphics, amazing gameplay, and amazing speed. Why get a TV connected console instead of an ac adapter.

Char gave it a 5:
The graphics and gameplay match the original almost perfectly but it's just akward knowing that the blue car in front of you isn't Captain Falcon.
