If you can handle the teeth-grinding, sweaty-palmed and cramped fingers difficulty, you’ll be richly rewarded by a game that is as strategic as it is fast.

I wish there was more gameplay variety and a few more modes thrown into the mix, but for 30 bucks you'll be getting more than your money's worth.

An addictive, fun, and engrossing adventure. Puzzle game fans will enjoy this, and anyone looking for a good way to kill a half hour in style should give this a shot.

The variation and additional game modes lack brilliance and make the game suffer from being a completely enjoyable experience.

If you're a fan, importing Mr. Driller Ace is a must, though luckily if you're unable to do so this title at least carries a budget price.

What it lacks in cutting-edge technology, it makes up for in intensity and difficulty.

Fun and challenging, but the graphics and audio are outdated and the play modes aren't deep enough.

It’s a decent enough puzzler, a sort of Dig Dug/Puyo Pop hybrid. Some players may get frustrated by being crushed by blocks falling from off screen, as well as the length of the later stages.

There's a bit of strategy involved in getting to the bottom of the pit, but the trek down feels entirely random and full of repetitive buttonmashing that never becomes a "great" or "fun" experience.

Gameplay is what makes or breaks a puzzle game, and that's where Mr. Driller 2 falls flat. It can't seem to decide if it wants to be an action game or a puzzle game.

As addictive as Mr. Driller 2 is, the GBA's sole screen doesn't provide enough vertical space (unlike "Drill Spirits" on the DS) to give you time to plan much of a falling-block strategy. [July 2005, p.101]
Detroit Free Press
Manages to unearth ample amounts of fun, scoring big with easy to pick up yet difficult to master gameplay that can be enjoyed for hours.

Mr. Driller and Mr. Driller 2 would have made great unlockable mini -games but like Kramer, George and Elaine, it's just not good enough to make it on its own.
GameSpy
Shame on Namco for sitting on this game for so long and letting it grow stale.

Even more painful is being forced to say bad things about a game that, for all intents and purposes, you happen to be rather fond of.
