Summary

Game Chronicles
Over the Hedge is far from an impressive game, especially given its ancestry and other current versions. It is apparent that amongst the handhelds, most of the attention was given to the DS version of the game, and the GBA version was simply a cookie-cutter rehash of last year’s Operation Penguin from the Madagascar camp.

If you have a young child who really enjoyed the movie, they will probably enjoy the game. It’s a neat way to try to introduce them to some stealth gameplay as well. Unfortunately, if you aren’t young, you will easily find the game too boring and repetitive.

Worth Playing
Repetitive, bland gameplay, boring yet decent graphics and controls, and abysmal audio make this a title that will have people lining up at the local game hawker to trade it in for something better.

Even with the younger set, this game offers little in the way of challenge--you can purchase health upgrades if necessary, but if they're necessary, you've got other problems to deal with. [July 2006, p.95]
