Nintendo Power

The multiplayer option is perhaps the coolest thing ever for GBA fans with a taste for covert operations. [Mar 2002, p.135]

IGN

I recommend the game to anyone who's not completely put off by the complicated control scheme...This is such a different take on the game that it seems really fresh.

All Game Guide

Missions are well designed, elite squads carry out reasonably realistic actions, and the level of challenge is difficult but not overly daunting.

Game Informer

The strategy aspects are great, as is the audio. [May 2002, p.89]

Game Over Online

A game that is less puzzle-like than "Commandos" and more action-like than the roots of which this game originated from.

Manages to convey the same feeling of deadly tension that its PC counterpart was famous for, and the compromises that were made to make it portable are fairly minor.

Visually, there’s lots to explore on every map, and the characters actually show decent detail. Cool voices and slick weapon effects complete a solid soundtrack.

[Anonymous] gave it a9:
An original take on the traditionally first person games of the same name, and absolutely brilliant in so many ways... The level of detail and realism is superb for such a small screen, and judged so that it isn't too small or too large. Get some headphones and revel in the sounds of the environment and be completely drawn in to the game. Gameplay is terrific, and allows for careful play at some times and full-clip blasting at others. Beautifully judged difficulty curve uses the different enemy classes and environments to good effect - quick thinking serves the player well!

Leif K. gave it an 8:
The game is brilliant, but the fact that you can only lead one hostage at the same time really makes some of the missions a real pain in the buttum..:)

Jarien F. gave it a 10:
This game has to be one of the best anti-terrorist strategy games on the Gameboy Advance system yet.
