Cincinnati Enquirer
The music alternates between jungle rhythms and chants and more ambient tracks, and it is surprisingly good -- especially for a Game Boy Advance title.

There isnt much as far as originality, with the exception of the characters of course and the envelope wasnt exactly pushed in its visual presentation. All in all though, it is a quality game.

While Tak has a lot of personality wrapped up in this package, the game doesnt seem to have any innovations with it. The controls, while good, are sometimes frustrating because of the nature of the jumping puzzles.

The difficulty is a little high for the average side-scroller, but still manageable. [Dec 2003, p.151]
GameZone
It wont set the world on fire with innovative game play or never-seen-before graphical elements. The power of this game lays in the enjoyable story and its rich display.

Offers a handful of semi-entertaining game hours but isn't nearly diverse enough to keep the attention of most well-played gamers.

Even though Tak and the Power of Juju lacks sophistication and purpose its still fun in a primitive (no pun intended) way.

When you combine a limited playing time with pretty average gameplay and sound, you're really looking at a bog-standard attempt in an over-subscribed genre.

Despite some nice graphics and sound, the action just doesn't flow well. [Spring 2004, p.48]
My Gamer
The game difficultly seems to fluctuate from time to time. One level will be very easy, and the next very hard.

As exciting as these elements may be, the biggest hurdle that gamers must overcome is a horribly inconsistent combat mechanic. [Jan 2004, p.160]

The little problems surface early on, and it just ends up being a very mediocre, almost unfinished design. Yes, it's a challenge, but it's not much of a fun one.

It's an average game at best with a title character that is so void of personality as to be totally forgettable a day after you complete the game.
