TotalGames.net

A title which has almost infinite replay value because every time you play it it’s a different game. Even if you repeatedly just play the same map over and over again the variety of things you can do and the impressive AI of the CPU opponents means that it’s never the same game twice.

GamePro

A fantastic title that suffers graphically on the console, but still retains everything else that made it so special.

GameShark

This is that fresh breath of air that the system needed so badly.

Daily Radar

The magic of "StarCraft's" expertly designed strategy glows brightly enough to blind you to its few inadequacies.

84

GameSpot

The huge number of levels available and the two-player split-screen mode -- slowdown ridden as it is -- make for an incredible amount of value.

Hot Games

The game will never live up to the PC version, and the two-player mode (although better than battling on your own), makes a mockery of the fun of the computer's multiplayer capabilities.

All Game Guide

While there isn't much for fans of the popular PC version of Starcraft to get excited about, those new to the series will enjoy engaging, addictive gameplay coupled with an incredibly protracted single player mode.

CNET Gamecenter

A very playable and engaging, if unattractive, port of the PC game that offers no surprises.

Games Domain

A solid real-time strategy for a system that offers few games requiring much thought.

Nintendorks

The good news is that if you can't play "StarCraft" on your PC, then "StarCraft 64" is the perfect alternative.

78

Antagonist -- Ant.com

If you have the PC game, you're going to start whining and wishing for a mouse and keyboard.

77

IGN

Slick and polished, this game absolutely is not. However, if you forgive and forget its looks, you will find yourself drawn in and addicted in no time.

Game Fan

Somehow, despite these behemoth obstacles, the game does capture a good portion of the original game's magic, and overall, isn't a bad investment if you enjoy RTS games.

75

Happy Puppy

If you're an RTS fan who never got a chance to check out "StarCraft" on your PC, then you should definitely give it a whirl. If you've already conquered the universe, there ain't no reason to do it on your N64.

CheckOut

Ultimately, I can only recommend "StarCraft64" to those of you that simply have no other alternative in playing the game.

Da Gameboyz

The game just doesn't measure up to PC standards; it doesn't even come close.

What Our Users Said

Starfire gave it a7:
I really enjoyed playing it, not having a PC- but definitely, despiter being a good port, it's much better on a PC, where the graphics are clearer and control is a lot easier. Still, an impressive port which gave more people the chance to play this and did it's best within the N64 limitations.

Alex P. gave it a5:
Unfortunately, this game is nowhere near as good as the PC version. It is harder to control, and it seems slower than the PC version. .

Joshua C. gave it a 10:
I need to buy this game can any one help me i only have $22.

Mr. suck Alot gave it a 10:
GREAT GAME!

Thomas S. gave it a 10:
Rented a lot, wasn't as good as the computer game, but the magic was still there.

Cammeron J. gave it a 10:
This game is soo tight there are none better.

AJ Knight gave it a 10:
This game is the best, I never played it for the PC, but what I play on the 64 tells me its better than Zelda.
