Summary

Welcome to Altitude, the best multiplayer 2-D aerial combat game on the internet. Altitude is a fierce contest of ace vs ace, battling for supremacy of the skies in a fast paced combat that is way more fun than a flight simulator. It is a game of steely nerves, hair-trigger reflexes and brilliant tactical thinking. Altitude will stretch you to the limit from the upper reaches of the stratosphere, the relics of a long forgotten city, to within the deepest hollows of underground caverns. It offers five unique planes to choose from and an online community that will provide you with hours of entertainment. So stretch those fingers, get your game face on, and prepare to blast your way across the cartoon skies in this fast-paced game of aerial combat. The sirens have sounded, bogies are coming in hot… so jump into the fast and agile Loopy and drop your enemies from the sky with a tactical EMP blast - but get out of the way before your Biplane support tears them to pieces with 20mm cannons blazing! Barrel roll through the enemy minefield and arm your nuke as you enter the drop zone. There it is - the enemy base - but two Mirandas just warped in with lasers hot, and an Explodet is lumbering into position over their hangar decks — will you carry your team to victory? [Nimbly]

PC Zone UK

It's a great little indie game, it's cheap and you really should play it. [Mar 2010, p.83]

AceGamez

Altitude's simple premise hides behind a deceptively difficult game, but one that's easily learned and enjoyable to engage in. Although there's plenty of content here, more might have been better, but what is here does last, just so long as it's taken in the right doses.

Multiplayer.it

Fast, fun and cheap. For less than 10 bucks and despite a not so charming visual style, Altitude is a very good multiplayer shoot'em up.

PC Gamer UK

Plainly the best plane-centric shooter on a 2D plane. Stick through the slow start and enjoy the view later on. [Jan 2010, p.94]

PC PowerPlay

If you're into twitchy, fast-paced multiplayer shooters, Altitude might just be worth a look. [Mar 2010, p.75]

Rollo L gave it a9:
Altitude is good for killing the time, against each other. It is not so easy to control the aeroplane, however, when you are fully control your aeroplane, you will find a real fun.

HoChiWaWa gave it an8:
Addictive, easy to pick up, tight controls and generally just fun. Worth the price of admission easily.

Thomas B gave it a10:
Magnificent! Beautifully simple thanks to the straightforward controls and simple objectives, yet very deep due to the variety of planes, perks and gamemodes. Reminds me a lot of SubSpace/Continuum, actually. On top of that, it's perfect for spending 5 minutes or half an hour on, and the leveling up aspect gives you another compelling reason to keep coming back. Grab the demo, at least! Chances are you'll be converted :)

Old school and great fun. Already clocked in a lot of hours for it and will keep me entertained hours on end!
