It’s clear the Army is taking this development seriously as the results are impressive.

To play America's Army is like slipping into a fascinating experiment. As players come and go, you're witness to riveting displays of heroism and cowardice, brilliant tactical bluffs, and awesomely awful blunders.

Stuff

If you want to make the most of the game, you’ll have to walk through the entire qualification process. Since it’s governed by actual military rules, you’re looking at a good couple of days from boot camp to field operations.

Good controls with a surprisingly fun training session help make this first person shooter one of the more enjoyably controlled games I've played all year.

Unfortunately, if you've never played it before, it really is a chore to get into because the training can be extremely boring and the setup convoluted. However, as the old saying goes, you can't complain too much about something that's free!

Rahul D gave it a10:
nice online and very realistic gameplay. cool graphics for such an old game, despite being a free 2 play. The new AA3 looks really slick, so check that out as well. Overall, great game, and plenty of updates and lasting impression, even though there is some US propaganda. Well worth the download. Congrats, US Army!

[Anonymous] gave it a7:
People who say this game is free are fools. If you have ever payed your taxes you have payed for this game in some way or another. This game is pure American propaganda. You don't even get to play as the "OpFor" which are basically your typical looking middle eastern person. Arrrgh. Oh well it is pretty fun I guess and pretty realistic, so it's worth downloading, especially since you are paying for it.

Nick P. gave it a10:
One of the best 1st person games EVER! With the constant udgrades and almost endless ways to play, this game is by far above most pay-2-play 1st persons and to top it all off it is FREE to play. Have to say thank you to the US army for this one!

Dave B. gave it a10:
quite possibly the most addictive, most enjoyable, most involving game available on your computer....and it`s free. Once you get through the "boring" training and start to get into the game, you will not be able to put it down.

Frederick P. gave it a10:
I've played this ever since version 1.5 (current is around 2.6). Its been awesome the whole way.

[Anonymous] gave it a5:
Our tax dollars hard at work. Hooray for propaganda.

Tim S. gave it a10:
Best of the Best! Online is SO Cool and Realistic.
