Summary
And Yet It Moves is a puzzle-platformer, set in a unique world, made of ripped paper. Within the paper collage, you can jump, run and last but certainly not least: rotate the world. Learn how to apply the physical consequences of rotation to master the many tricky situations you may encounter. You can play a race against the clock on different levels, too, competing against previous clocked times. Your run will be recorded, as a »Ghost« which can be submitted, along with your time, to the global high scores online. You can download other users' Ghosts to compete with friends and strangers around the world and see who found the fastest route. Following the acclaim of the previously awarded prototype for And Yet It Moves, we present the full version, containing three exciting and beautiful environments and lots of new challenges. Independent, unfamiliar and unknown: And Yet It Moves is the kind of game you rarely ever get to review – and yet I instantly fell in love with the fresh style, interesting concept and funny gameplay. It may not be a high-budget-production, but it’s certainly worth your while and money!

A platforming evolution that turns the genre upside down. Has its own intriguing and original art style, too. [June 2009, p.98]

While it's only a few hours long, And Yet It Moves is one of the most addictive and refreshing games I've played this year.

And Yet It Moves is one of those unique titles that only come around once in a while. The 15 dollar price tag may deter a few but competition modes, achievements and a stunning audio-visual experience make the title well worth the price. If nothing else, you’ll be getting a unique and dizzying adventure through this not-so common puzzle platformer.

Maybe its indie-and-simple looks might not look very appealing, but if you give this game an opportunity you'll see it's a unique and very entertaining offering. Being the first game from BrokenRules, a small team from Vienna, we can only take our hats off to it.

Clever design and a quirky artistic style make this gimmicky puzzle platformer worth playing.

AYIM is a novel, fun and incredibly infuriating game that will pass the time, just don’t expect it to turn your world upside-down.

This game turns everything upside down – and that’s good and bad at the same time. The physics simulation isn’t bug free and there is no story at all, but the puzzles are challenging, there are lots of save points to avoid frustration and even an online-ranking.

AYIM is a great distraction for any fan of casual puzzles who doesn’t want to blow a lot of cash.

The levels feed artificially protracted. [July 2009, p.74]

Jeff G gave it a10:
This is exactly what an indie platformer should be. Though this game doesn't attempt many new things, what it does, it does perfectly. The levels are well designed, it has a very unique art style, and very simple, yet ambient sound. The puzzles are clever and rewarding, and the pacing and distancing of the checkpoints in the game is just right, and ensures that you never get frustrated, but it never feels too easy. I never found a single thing about the game I didn't like, therefore earning it a perfect 10. To it's developers, if you guys ever read this, you have bright futures in game design ahead of you.
Dean M. gave it a9:
I've been playing the full version of this game for week now; after playing the demo I am happy to report that the game is even better than the amazing demo. I'd previously written about my love for this game after playing the demo at AlwaysGoRight.com, and as I had mentioned - I wanted to play the full version of this game. I am happy to say that this game is a fantastic puzzle-platformer - it looks fantastic, controls are simple to learn, gameplay is great, fun factor high, and has just the right balance between difficulty and reward. And at it's budget pricing, you just cannot go wrong with this game - check it out, I am certain you'll love it.
Adam gave it a7:
Zorch! You just died again. Get used to that sound from this game, it's gonna happen a lot. An overall decent indie title, with a very distinctive visual style. Controls are a bit balky and a few of the puzzles can get frustrating - the disintegrating bananas in the "forest" level are especially infuriating. Sound effects and music are a little tedious, too. However, this game is still worth a few bucks to download and a few hours of your time, it's definitely a unique experience!
