It is so evenly balanced on all levels that you feel as if you glide easily from one operation to the next without any interruption. This is a definite have to own.

A good game. Real-time fans may like it, and turn-based gamers will like it. And no one will deny that it is unique. If you're a big fan of the series, this fourth installment is a must-buy.

GameSpy
It should be noted that patience is a system requirement for BITAW. Missions can easily take hours to complete.

IGN
The inane storyline and often-excruciating pace of play make this hard game to recommend.

Electric Playground
It falls right in the middle of mediocrity. It may not be good, but it’s not bad either, just very gray.

Adrenaline Vault
Though the plotline is somewhat lackluster, the intricacies of building up your army between your different islands and keeping track of unit management and combat tactics all while the clock continually ticks down is exciting and entertaining.

The game's incomplete interface, uneven pacing, and typical units all serve to make it less interesting than it might have been.

Happy Puppy
This becomes a case of hurry up and wait. I found myself frantically trying to fit all of my moves into the eight minutes that constituted my turn, then going and fixing myself a sandwich during the AI's eight minutes.

GamePower
This is one game that deserved to go the customary real-time route without getting detoured along the way.

Computer Games Magazine
Succeeds despite some serious problems, but only if you're persistent and willing to put up with its quirks, style of gameplay, and pacing.

4nZa gave it a 10:
Absolutely great game. I like it. Only AI-seems little bit problematic, but there is a patch for it. blizgrieg is another problem because of electric power, but it doesn't matter cause power won't end that fast. ;) Super graphics and exelent tactic game. Those who don't like gary crispy's games but want tactic game are like in home with this one.

Florian K. gave it a 10:

Great game. Really comes into it's own in multi-player. Visit http://battleisle.orrwhat.net/ for player contacts and rankings.
