PC Gamer
Easily one of the most engrossing shooters ever made. [Holiday 2008, p.70]
Gaming Nexus
An excellent and authentic single player experience, combining great game play based on squad leadership with compelling story telling.

Brother’s in Arms Hell’s Highway is a beautiful and engrossing cinematic experience that is as much fun to watch, as it is to play. Games rarely are this enjoyable and I can't remember the last time I started up a game and couldn't stop playing it.

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway offers the best gameplay and narrative of all three parts of the series. It's a thrilling shooter, tells a haunting story that shouldn't leave anyone untouched and the cut scenes are fantastic. The AI has a few bugs, but most of the time the other soldiers act convincingly intelligent. The best "Brothers in Arms" so far.

For all its faults Hell's Highway is a rich experience that should be played through at least twice, because in completing the game you just want to keep going. [Dec 2008, p.68]
PC Gamer UK
Grippnig small scale stories of WWII. [Nov 2008, p.84]
GameSpot
Hell's Highway proves to be an exciting, engaging ride despite a few bumps along the way.

World War II is coming back into your living room with Hell's Highway, a solid, squad-based tactical shooter. Aside from some minor glitches and a lack of decent multiplayer the game is stunning, with a movie-like story that is gripping and emotional. A must buy for WWII shooter fans, and fans of the series.

So what is it that makes a great “anti-war-shooter”? Is it its heart? Or its brain? Personally, I think it’s probably both, which is exactly what keeps BiA:HH from being a 90+ title. After all the story and the presentation may be great, but the gameplay itself is still a bit repetitive and doesn’t bring anything entirely new to the series.

The fantastic storytelling coupled with an equally impressive score though will make you forget your grievances with the finished product, and there are just enough extras in the campaign to make completionists return a couple times to get them all.

Clocking in at around 10 hours, Hell’s Highway provides tons of drama but brings with it some new gameplay elements that don’t mesh with the series philosophy.

Overall a good mix of realistic action and tactical gameplay will appeal to the Private Ryans rather than the Rambos. [Dec 2008, p.73]
Total PC Gaming
Hell's Highway is held back by tunnel-vision solo play, but that shouldn't put you off. [Issue#12, p.55]
PC Format
A proper war game that tries to have its rations and eat them, and chokes because of that. [Dec 2008, p.94]
LEVEL (Czech Republic)
Infernally absorbing game with not only stunning graphics but also a compelling story and a reasonable amount of pathos. If all WWII games come this way we’ll never be bored. Be prepared for flying body parts and mutilated bodies - this game is not for sissies! [Oct 2008]
GameZone
Hell’s Highway is a solid shooter with some great elements, but the AI issues are very problematic, especially for a squad-based shooter.

New and vastly improved targeting model allows now (at last!) to hit every pixel you see. The game isn't so hard as the first part, unless you have to fight alone - you'll be positively beaming with joy when you see your boys again. And losing every one of the team members hurts just as much as it should. [Oct 2008]
IGN
Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway does an excellent job of presenting the story of these men, and is as compelling as many war movies.

There are some technical problems and crash bugs that need ironed out (especially for ATI users, from the sound of it), and the feel and responsiveness of the controls could have been better. The AI is lacking, but those special slow-motion moments when you score a particularly nasty headshot or a grenade blows a guy into thirds are rewarding and add to the cinematic feel.

If you’re a newcomer to the series, it’s recommended that you play the first two before delving into this one, as you’ll miss out on the developed story up to that point. If you’re looking for a new World War II multiplayer experience, it would be best to skip over Hell’s Highway and wait for something a little more multiplayer-oriented.

Gearbox has made a game that is stable and complete, if hugely unrefined in places, with an under-exploited but sound core of tactical squad combat. [Nov 2008, p.93]
Thunderbolt
Nobody is suggesting that such a marriage of styles and boundary pushing storytelling shouldn’t be attempted in gaming, and in that Hell’s Highway is incredibly brave, but arguably any effort to be both an enjoyable first person shooter and stony-faced anti-war tale is doomed from the outset. Something must be compromised, it’s just a shame that in this case it happens to be the whole package.

Johnny V gave it a10:
I had totally no problems running it... if you people do have to compare it to cod the cod series are way to short in gameplay cod - No story cod -is way to eays even at highest diff. bia is the first ( i think) fps that u can play WITHOUT crosshair! just like it would be. Good graps good gameplay really it's a f ing nice game.

In my opinion, Brothers in arms:HH is in among the best military shooters. With amazing graphics and sound, the game really brings you to a virtual world in that you feel like fighting in a real war. Its squad base gameplay gives you opportunity to make some strategy during the battle. Commanding your squad is also very easy with single clicks. Compared to BoA: Road to Hill, the AI of your squad mades and enemies were improved. I prefer this game to serious military shooter fans. Thanks.
Uel gave it a9:
An excellent, solid ww2 game that has a great storyline and immersive gameplay. This game is tactically rewarding and a good challenge on the harder difficulties, my only issues are the few bugs that are apparent and poor multiplayer - but don't buy it for that, keep to the story mode.
JaCkAmO gave it an8:
Great shooter. I've been playing shooters since they hit the market. The controlling is a little hectic at first, but once you get used to commanding your units, it's a lot of fun. Great storyline, fantastic graphics. I had to disable SLI to get the video bugs out...but runs flawless.
AL B gave it a5:
At the start of this game i was amazed.Excellent graphics with a story line that looked good(i wouldn't know as i haven't got the games before this).I liked the way you command your squad and all that. Its the actually shooting that is boring. All your doing is setting up your squads behind cover and then peeking up and shooting the Germans who are also behind cover and peeking up.I mean the least they could have done is added some music when your fighting. You cant just move up either, you get shot down.Take a look at call of duty. You don't command a squad but that doesn't mean its a ''brainless'' shooter. Either way it got boring for me after 15 hours, but don't let me stop you,if you want to waste your money,go right ahead.
SJT-Ruler * gave it a9:
I am going to divide this into good and bad points, because that's what this game is made up about. The good things are definitely the story, it's just epic and finally crushes games like Call of Duty that are just brainless shooters. Hell's Highway shows the player a deeper meaning into it and the Nazi-Germans are for once shown like a force to be reckoned with, not cannon fodder. I will not reveal anything about it, all I can say is that the singleplayer alone is worth playing. The multiplayer is also great, finally you have to advance carefully. With no respawns, you can't just rush in to kill the enemy, often you will die. Because of that, noobs will often get pissed off, but serious gamers will love this game. Thanks to that cover system, it looks more like a real war simulator, making this far better than games like Call of Duty. There are some bad things about it, though, Online is just terrible with connections. Normally, I have no lag at all in multiplayer games. In this game, it keeps going on, and on, and on. When most people host a server, nobody can even join it, meaning that only a few people are able to host resulting in just a few online servers, which is really sad because it's a good game. However, what's also sad is that multiplayer features only a few maps and a single game mode, meaning that you can hardly experience the game any differently. It's understandable that many people dislike the game for that, but in my personal opinion that one game mode is actually a great one. My conclusion, you can clearly see that this game had a lot of work put into it, so it is really worth it.
