Summary
Control Catwoman as you play the movie, utilizing her unique catlike skills, senses and cunning to defeat her enemies. Boasting incredible acrobatic skills, Catwoman can leap across roofs, run up walls, pounce on prey, utilize inimitable "cat senses," and avoid enemy bullets with feline grace. In addition, she can use her whip to swing through the air, and utilize the fully interactive environments to trap or knock her foes unconscious. The game takes you through numerous levels set in seven different locations from the movie. [Electronic Arts]

Play Magazine
Perhaps more than any previous movie game, Catwoman is actually challenging on a platforming level - sort of like "Prince of Persia" without the rewind. If you like a challenging platformer give Patience a chance. [Sept 2004, p.73]
GameSpot
Catwoman attempts to deliver some "Prince of Persia"-like acrobatics, but it's dragged down by bad control, weak voice work, and shoddy gameplay.

Even though Catwoman offers a feisty and stylish superheroine, some neatly designed platform puzzles, coupled with fluid animation and fighting action, the game ultimately takes a nosedive by making the very thing it focuses on the most frustrating to the point of wanting to strangle small kittens. And it does so by basically not taking extra care of the camera, controls and other important design aspects that would've made the game play a lot more enjoyable.

Keyboard and mouse controls could have been easier to use and camera angles definitely need work. But if you want to get a game out in time for a movie release, some things will go unpolished.

While new enemies and missions are introduced over time, the game's story never really builds into anything, so it gives you -- the player -- little incentive to finish the adventure.

Only for hardcore fans of Halle Berry or aficionados of softcore porn. [Nov 2004, p.96]
XGP Gaming
Halle Berry does the voice acting for her character, but she over-delivers almost every cheesy line.

The restrictive control system and progression feels pathetic compared to the state of fluid titles such as "Prince of Persia" or "Galleon", whilst the overall experience is confounded by an awkward fixed camera system that makes it virtually impossible to see where youre going.

The hell of the game is that the environmental puzzle setups look pretty good -- climb the wall, lash onto the nearest outcropping, swing to clamber chainlink fences, etc. It's just a shame the game actively fights your ability to navigate them.

It's quite faithful to the movie in that it also sucks. [Dec 2004, p.92]
PC Format
Messy, clumsy, and deeply unsatisfying beat-'em-up combat. Surpised? Catwoman is a poorly made tie-in game for a rubbish movie. Someone find me a bag and a brick. [Oct 2004, p.96]
IGN
While the development team has done a better-than-average job of heaping sparkles and gloss over these broken bones of a game, the end result is that Catwoman is a overly simplistic combat game. It's a rather interesting adventure game marred by annoying, imprecise controls and an even more maddening and nonsensical camera.

An epic disaster of a game derived from a movie that simply shouldn't exist in the first place. [Nov 2004, p.81]

Christopher S. gave it an8:
Not nearly as bad as everyone seems to think and quite possibly one the more underrated games of its year. Catwoman certainly ranks as one the most beautifully rendered and animated characters to ever star in a video game. Not only is she wonderful to look at but she is equally wonderful to control. Her body responds quickly and precisely to analog gamepad input and pulling off cool moves is not terribly difficult. The combat sequences are not especially fantastic but they are for the most part well implemented and enjoyable. As stated above this is primarily a platformer and as such there is a lot of jumping and swinging, if thats not your thing then you should probably skip this release. Most reviewers have complained about the camera work and to some extent they are correct. Camera movement is constrained and focuses primarily on Catwoman, for obvious reasons. However, you can activate a first person view that allows you to look about wherever you wish, admitably only while you are standing still. I for one adjusted to this limitation and ultimately found it not to be much of an issue. And to be honest I could spend hours just watching her walk, boy oh boy can she walk. Overall the graphics are nice and should perform well on most modern gaming machines. A diamond in the rough that can be had for a song.
Bho gave it a 3:
Very very poor game by such a big name. Camera angles are the worst, controls are just as bad. Futhermore, graphics are average in my opinion. The only thing I liked was a hint of martial arts, however, that was also limited, I fund myself doing the same moves over and over! Nothing special, not at all impressed. Similar titles which are better I can suggest are Max Payne 2 and Spiderman 2.
Shane W. gave it a 3:
Looks good, but is impossible to control without a joypad, and even with, you'll spend more time wrestling with the camera angles than enjoying the game.
