Summary
This Red Alert 2 Expansion Pack finds Yuri ready for world domination in a post-peace treaty, free world. Refining his mind-control technologies, he's created an army of terrors, from mind-controlling tanks to long-range psychics, whose brains are their biggest weapons. Play as Allies or Soviets, and take on Yuri in Hollywood, Egypt -- even the moon -- in 14 new solo campaign missions. [Westwood Studios]

Game Informer
Westwood shows us once again that it knows how to improve upon near perfection. [Dec 2001, p.116]
Gamer's Pulse
The multiplayer component truly makes for the great replay value as you can play as Yuris forces while online but not in Single player.

This is what an expansion pack should be ... tons more of everything you enjoyed from the first game with just enough new stuff to keep you guessing.

Imaginative new units and missions and an entire new faction, make this a no-brainer purchase for Red Alert 2 fans.

These single-player campaigns are really the only part of this whole pack that came close to disappointing me. [Holiday 2001, p.84]
Hot Games
Takes the game in a new, and sometimes hilarious, direction. Revenge is a dish best served cold - we served it colder than others, but we still ate heartily.

The game adds enough new missions, locations, structures, weapons and units to justify the purchase and will likely keep you clicking away feverishly until the wee hours of the morn.

There are no bugs or technical problems, the production values are excellent, and the gameplay is fun. What more could you want? Well, ok, a longer single-player experience would be nice.

Pure gold...[it] gives a really excellent game some really impressive enhancements.

Gives you enough to be entertained but doesn't leave you thinking you just wasted a bit of cash on features that should've been included in the first game.
It makes an already great game even better, not only by piling on new features, but also by adding enough significant enhancements that the result stands out as being not just broader than its predecessor, but legitimately different.

This little CD is oozing with so much gaming goodness that it would be silly not to pick it up.

The fourteen new missions will provide at least twenty new hours of fun.
The paper-rock-scissors effect has never been so intricately factored into the units, the missions are interesting, and all your favorite actors (from Udo Kier to Ray Wise) are back to make Yuri's some of the sweetest revenge ever.

Even the early missions start out fairly difficult, and it only gets harder from there. These campaigns are not written for the novice player.
Read Full Review >Computer Games Magazine
It's certainly not intuitive and it's not always streamlined, but there's a unique sense of satisfaction when you've won not by out-harvesting the other guy (which still happens far too often), but by throwing a rock when he threw scissors.

As a single player game you might whip through it a few times on different difficulty. However if multiplayer is your thing this game is excellent value, well we reckon it will be when we get another copy!

The game adds enough new missions, locations, structures, weapons and units to justify its purchase and will likely keep you clicking until the wee hours of the morning.

In every way an improvement over its predecessor. [Jan 2002, p.108]

Skirmishes themselves are also still painfully primitive in their nature. Trying to introduce any kind of superior tactical operations into proceedings is nigh on impossible, with the two sides generally showing all the tactical nous of bar-room brawlers.

Delivers more of their established brand of imaginative gameplay rather than attempts at innovative technology.

Alex R. gave it a10:
If Red Alert 2 on its own is one of the most amazing games ever made, Yuri's Revenge makes it just all that much better. Amazing three-way balancing and the introduction of the innovative new Yuri faction, Yuri's Revenge adds so much to an already near-perfect formula.
Patrick S. gave it a10:
Incredible game, still one of the best.
Anson G. gave it a10:
Great expansion game. New voice of each vehicles and ship unit, new army Yuri=it ROCKS, great storyline, if u play this game, u wont lose but humanity. Westwood rules!
Peter D. gave it a10:
I have this game for nearly 7 years now and it still rocks. The missions are not as amazing as in the original 'Red Alert 2' but all the new unit makes up for that. Even if you get bored after 7yrs there are hundreds of mod out there with hundreds of new units. I can't believe WESTWOOD is no more.
Tom D. gave it a 10:
It very good.
Figaro gave it a 10:
Up there with starcraft as the best 3 way RTS ever!
Mike J. gave it a 10:
This is the best game ever u can never beat this superb revenge from Yuri especially with his new mind control units and his floating discs!!!! ThatÂ’s why I rate it 10 cos if I could I would rate it 100.
